Rated 5 out of 5 by Charlestonian Wife likes them
Purchased them for my wife for Mother's Day. She has been wearing them almost every day since. She likes them for bike riding and walking. Says they look good and are comfortable.

I just put these on today as maybe winter finally left as well as a wet spring. I have measured both a 10 and 11 in two different stores recently. Was nervous getting the ten as I usually size up in athletic shoes. But since there were no half sizes and this was before I measured an 11, I had ordered the ten. Plenty of room with sock, extra room in toe, and what I really like is width at toe, so comfy for feet that are starting to get arthritic. Bought because of rubber bumper and wet sometimes muddy conditions. We will see how the mesh holds up on a farm. May wear them for mowing instead of last years worn out sneakers. I got two pair so one can breathe. I think so far I will be wearing these alot. I normally buy expensive 800 number new balance athletic shoes and these seem to have just as much arch support if not more. Only downfall so far is they do not stay tied with the round laces.

Finally a hiking shoe that is comfortable for a wide foot. It's been a long time but I finally found a very comfortable hiking shoe. Lately the fit model for hiking shoes has run very narrow and the arch support seems to be missing. This shoe is terrific - true to width - and the arch support is excellent. Good for flat feet like mine. The inner sole is softer and it is nice to feel like I am not standing on a rock. The shoe is lower in cut and does not dig into the ankle. Best worn with thicker hiking socks. The shoes are very stylish and the colors are very attractive. I recommend this style if you have flat, wide feet and need hiking shoes that are light weight but supportive.

I really wanted these to work, however; they are just too large. They are nice shoes, just strange sizing. I will try another style. If you have a really wide foot they might work for you. They are well made and a nice color. Returning them!

very comfortable..i wear an 8D..wide enough with thin cotton socks..having flat feet and past surgeries-its VERY hard to find comfy, reasonably priced, wider shoes with an EVA mid sole ..i use these for everyday errands and casual walking..bought first pair < a year ago and just purchased my second pair! would luv to see these in MORE COLORS and in one or two more WIDER sizes, to allow for a long day and swollen feet.

I need a new pair of low cut hiking boots. I was hoping these would be the ones. They are very well made with good support and strong laces (thus the 5 stars). But...they are too wide. I have AA feet. I tried them on with my hiking socks and my foot just had too much room to move around. I pulled the laces up as much as I could, but that didn't work either. I ordered 9.5 my reg shoe size based on the reviews. My other boots are size 10. The length of these would have been fine for downhill hiking. They just are not made for narrow feet. I will try another boot with a more narrow width.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sedonachick So Comfortable!!!
I was looking for hiking shoes and for the price, I thought these would be adequate. Well, they were more than adequate! They are so comfortable, I want to wear them for my everyday shoes.
I bought my normal shoe size, it allowed for plenty of toe room, which I heard was important in a hiking shoe. I took them to Death Valley National Park, Zion National Park and Sedona, AZ. Hiked at each place in them and they were as comfortable as bedroom slippers and I am considering buying a second pair just for backup.
Thanks LLBean!

Rated 4 out of 5 by WeekendAmbler Right shoe is gorgeous
The two shoes in the pair I received are noticeably different. The trim on the left shoe's toe area is a full 1/4" longer than the same trim on the right shoe, and the heel trim on the left shoe is off-center.
The blue color is even prettier than shown in the catalog, and they are comfortable. They fit true to size.
I had a photo but I deleted it because I thought the first review I submitted about these shoes would be published. Maybe it will be now, without the picture.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SunnyKansasGirl NOT Trail Hiker...runs large
I assumed these shoes were a direct replacement for the Trail Hiker shoe that has been discontinued, and which had been my favorite all-around shoe...probably bought 6 pairs over the years. But despite a similar styling, these run 1/2 size large, I'd say. I have a very average foot; wear a 9M, but had to exchange these for an 8.5, which fit better, but still seem a little wide. I should have been tipped off by the "wear with thick socks" in the description! Too bad for those of us that don't like thick socks, huh, esp. in the summer. Still overall, these will be okay for me - I just wish they'd not discontinued the previous Trail Hiker, which were my idea of PERFECT.
