I am in love with these boots. I ordered a whole size smaller than I usually wear--as I did with all my other bean boot orders. The deep red bottoms are a nice touch and really set them apart, and I love that the tongue is connected all the way up to keep my feet dry and warm.

I absolutely love this shoe. It was comfortable out of the box. The leather is soft, but sturdy. Initially I thought I would have to wait months to get them, but they arrived in about 3 weeks. My only note would be that, per the sizing recommendations, I ordered a size and a half down (I am a true 9 1/2 and I ordered an 8). They JUST fit with normal socks (perfectly fine and comfortable), but my toes are at the top with thick socks. If you plan to wear these as winter boots with thick socks and are in between sizes you might consider ordering just a half size down.

After reading the reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and invest in the boots I've been stalking for the last two years. I ordered them early in the season because of how often they are back ordered. Now that I can wear them, I must say that I'm glad I ordered my regular size and not the size smaller as recommended. I think if I had ordered down I'd have problems wearing them with thicker winter socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Timoniumshopper Not good for large calf
The boot was back- ordered twice but amazingly arrived at the end of October instead of early January. It is very attractive, nice leather. I wear a 7 but ordered a 6 as suggested. The footbed fit fine but I was surprised to see that the tongue was attached to the boot. I barely got my foot inside and it was very uncomfortable around the ankle area. I have a large calf but thought I would be OK since it was a short boot. I was sad to have to return it.

I finally got my first pair after a solid 1.5 years of deciding whether it was the best boot to get for winter. While I wouldn't recommend it for 100% warmth, unless you consider getting the lined versions of the bean boot, it is still a great boot. I wanted something for casual hiking with, as well as getting to and from work with during the snowy months. Very comfortable, still roomy enough for a nice pair of smartwool or thick socks, and really cute! I love the red soles and bison leather, it's nice to have something a little different than the traditional bean boot look. PS- I am normally a pretty true size 9, went down to the size 8 and I still have some wiggle room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by IHeartShoes Seriously - buy two sizes
I think these are great shoes. I love the look, they feel very lightweight despite being a winter boot & the quality is excellent. Plus, they come with 2 colors of laces so you can choose. I've just received them so I can't yet comment on how they wear but I can comment on the sizing issue - and it is an issue. The biggest problem I have is availability & sizing. I am a true 8.5 or 39 UK. After reading tons of reviews, esp noting people who said they were the same size as me, I went with a size 7 in this boot. Bc I ordered a 7 I also marked these as 'somewhat large'. When I ordered them in early Oct, they were over a month back ordered & said they wouldn't be shipped until mid November. I figured that was fine & just in time for winter. Surprisingly, they showed up yesterday! When I pulled them out my first thought was how tiny they looked! When I put them on, my toes (which are long) just hit the inside front of the shoe. When I lace them up, it helped keep my foot from sliding forward but I won't be able to wear thick wooly socks with these boots. I'll probably just get by with a thin sock. Here's the problem. Although, the fit isn't ideal I'll end up keeping these lovely boots because the size 8 is backordered until FEBRUARY. That's a long time to wait & hope they might ship early. My best advice to you is to order two sizes so you don't end up with the same issue as me.

Excellent boots, waterproof, nice color easy to wear. The only issue is that they run a little big. So I wear 91/2 usually but for these I bought the 9 online and they were a little big even with thicker socks. I exchanged them for size 8 which was perfect. They come with 2 cool colored laces

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lharwell my new favorite shoe
I just ordered and received my boots a few weeks ago and I am already in love! I wear a 9-9.5 normally but I ordered an 8 because I read that they ran rather large and the 8's didn't have a back order date. I was nervous that they wouldn't fit but I have worn two pairs of socks with them to keep warm and still feel like I have room! They did not require any breaking in and I've walked all day long in them and they still feel great! They are cute, comfortable, and some of the best boots I've ever owned

Completely happy with the look, fit and comfort of the boot. I almost always wear an 8 and a 7 fits with room with thicker socks but also fine with thinner socks. Also, they were on back order and were not to ship until August 7th, but I received them before that! One thing... Not sure if I just got unlucky, but one of my boots is put together perfectly. The other is cut slightly above the bottom half of the boot. There is a gap where the top part joins the bottom "duck" part of the boot. I have worn them a few times and they work even when walking in puddles. I just hope they last as long as Bean Boots usually do.
