Rated 5 out of 5 by kramer451 great boot
Bought these because american made. Why spend this much money to buy shoes made in country that doesn't like us? Turned out to be most comfortable boots I ever owned. As a horse owner, I have had alot of different brands of all price ranges. Use them to muck horse and goat stalls, garden, muck in woods with kids. Spray off with hose and they are clean for running errands on rainy days. Love these boots. Would buy again and will buy for my 3 girls.

These boots are great. While they are a little tough to get on at first- the tongue is attached on both sides- they are very comfortable. I recently wore them on a rainy night and danced the night away with no discomfort. They are also grippy on the bottom so no slipping and sliding in inclement weather. They look great and feel great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by toandfro On my second pair and loving them!
I recognize that each foot is different but lets call mine "average". Average in shape, width and use. That being said, I absolutely could not be happier with these boots. I knew I was instantly satisfied with the fit on my first pair (purchased three years ago) but I'd forgotten how wonderful they felt right out of the box until I put my new pair on a few days ago. I wear them with a mid-weight merino wool sock and nylon liner comfortably all day for days on end. The size was what I expected and my feet stay dry when tromping through shin-high grass every morning at work. I actually started wearing these as an everyday shoe for all types of activities and the chain-link soul pattern has been stable on every surface I've worked on from concrete to mud to a hot tin roof. I've even done a few hiking trips in them. I'm already thinking of buying another pair so I can have one for work and one for play. The only breaking-in needed is the tongue and, as long as you treat the leather with a conditioner, that shouldn't take more than two or three days of wearing them a few hours at a time. I wanted something I could slip on quickly and I had ordered a pair of the rubber mocs but the smallest size was still too loose so I exchanged them for a pair of the gum shoes since they lace up. Those fit great and I'm happy with them but I can't wear them all day because the top of the boot lands right on the ball of my ankle so I find that I still grab my 8" boots no matter how quick/short a trip I make. I am on my feet all day so I put gel inserts in and haven't had any problems. With other boots the first thing I'd do at the end of the day was tear them off my feet. Not these. I've noticed myself wearing them until I get ready for bed! I highly recommend these boots. I don't typically order "fit-specific" items online but with L.L. Beans return/exchange policy I decided to give it a try and I'm sure glad I did.

I waited a long time to order these boots. When I finally took the plunge it was well worth it. Always an 8 in shoes but in Bean Boots always a 7. This color and style was just different enough. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Thank you LL Bean for amazing boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MSoilis Favorite Boot Ever!
I had my eye on these boots for months, and I finally committed. I am SO happy with them, and I can honestly say I wear them 4 out of 7 days a week. They're perfect for mud season here in Vermont, and they go with everything I wear. The brown bison leather is just what I wanted, and the red bottom looks great.
About the fitting, I would definitely suggest going down a size unless you plan to wear very thick socks with them. I usually wear a Women's 8 or sometimes a 7.5, and after reading a handful of reviews, I decided on the Women's 7. Perfect fit!
I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants a reliable pair of good-looking boots that you can wear in any season.
Great job L.L. Bean!!

I love these boots, however, they are incredibly squeaky! I thought this would go away with a bit of time, but they still squeak just as much as when they first arrived in the mail. I read some other reviews and no one else seems to have this issue, so I'm wondering if I just got an off pair. I hope not as I want to wear these boots for as long as I can, but the squeaking is beginning to bother me just a bit. I'm going to get the bean boot guard leather dressing and really hope that does the trick. If they didn't squeak so much I would have rated them five stars.

The boots are everything they are advertised to be...kept my feet warm and dry in this year's horrible winter and slushy spring! I also ordered a size down (reluctantly) as recommended and the boots fit very well! This is a real boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by msmm awesome boots!
These boots are fantastic!! I DEFINITELY recommend going one size down. I have pretty large feet (normally an EU size 41) and ordered a 9 - they fit perfectly. Room for a thick sock but not too roomy when wearing a thin one.
These are great looking boots and the pop of red on the bottom is fun. I agree that the leather is *slightly* stiff to begin with but it's not really an issue. I have never worn the regular Bean boots so I don't have something to compare them to but they were fantastic right out of the box.

I love these boots. They fit as they should and were true to size. The6 seem very welk made. I like that they are made in the US. I do wish the tongue wasn't attached along the sides but its not a deal breaker. It just means I need to be sure to loosen the laces all the way down in order to easily slip my foot out. I wear wool socks with them and am warm enough when I am out and about. They were on back order and I had to wait but I am happy I did.

I love this boot. I normally wear a 6.5, but based on the description it said to order down because they can run a little big, so I ordered a size 6. My feet are a medium with (standard) and feel I have plenty of room to wear any type of sock thickness - cotton or wool. If you will typically wear a thick insulated wool sock with these boots, then I would order your normal size or order up. Since I live in Indiana and endure all four seasons, I wanted to be able to wear any type of sock with these boots. The only negative is the tongue of the boot is attached so it makes it a little difficult to put them on or take them off. However, they're an all weather boot so it will block the cold/rain that could make your feet get cold or your socks get wet.
