I purchased this jacket while it was on sale and it wasn't available in my usual size 8 so I ordered the 10. Since there were several reviews that stated the jacket was snug I hoped the next size up would work. The 10 was way too big.The arms were down to my knuckles and the body was not even close to fitting. I was able to exchange it for a petite 10 and that jacket fit perfectly. I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs with broad shoulders, never thought of myself as petite but in this case the petite was the answer. The material was extremely stiff, at first, but has begun to relax after some wear and two washings. This jacket seems like it is well made and should last for years. I'm so happy that I can feel like I'm wearing something nice and wont have to worry about dry cleaning bills.

I bought this item in misses size 12 reg. after reading the reviews. The material and construction are both great, but the fit is not! Although I can easily button the jacket closed, it is too tight in the shoulders and arms; I cannot reach my arms forward without fear of the arm seams tearing. Also, it looks very boxy and not at all fitted. I am very disappointed. My 8 year-old LLB twill chino jacket (misses size 10 reg.) fits better in the shoulders and arms, although it has become a little snug around the middle.

The description said "Slightly Fitted," but the jacket is very boxy and baggy especially around the darts in the bust area. I exchanged mine for the Bean Signature Washed Twill Blazer. I was hesitant to try the Signature line since I thought it'd run too tight, but am glad I did. The fit is better and more comfortable.

loved the color & lining, it's very well made & seemed a good buy price-wise but...the styling is horrible! it's much too "boxy" - made me look huge! the size was right - fit perfectly on the shoulders & sleeve length so that wasn't the problem. imho, it really needed more tailoring - if it was gathered in the back to pull in the waist just a little it would've looked much, much better. sadly, i am returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 Nice Jacket But Too Big!
Purchased this jacket in Stone. Love the colour, style, quality but is not true-to-size. I'm normally a 1X and it's too big. Will have to return it for an XL.

Out of the box this jacket is beautiful: great colour, beautiful lining. Then, I tried it on.
The Jean version of this jacket is stiff and uncomfortable to wear. It crinkled when I sat down. Couldn't imagine wearing that to a restaurant or the office.
And then there's the fit. I am a consistent 14/16 at LLBean. Having read the reviews, I ordered up - and got an 18. It was still snug. Perhaps better suited for someone more straight up and down than curvy.
It's going back.

I got this in the coral color on sale and have worn it a good deal and washed it twice. I haven't noticed any shrinkage. The jacket comes out of the dryer not too wrinkly to wear but needs to be ironed to look crisp. The sizing is snug. I got this in petite a full size larger than usual and I can button it easily. Any smaller and that would be impossible. Well made and I'm so happy to have functional pockets. I'm back to order another but it's sold out!

This is such a wonderful jacket, I ordered two more in addition to my first one. The lining is simply beautiful and the jacket fits true to size. It looks great dressed up in pants or a skirt or dressed down in jeans. The colors are also beautiful and the material is a great quality. I highly recommend this jacket.
