Rated 3 out of 5 by lailai Jacket is kind of OKAY
This is Gore-Tex. But my problem is the water-proof doesn't last that long. Personally I don't think it's ever breathable say as well as cotton. Yet Gore-Tex always says breathable, not my experience. Perhaps breathable than waxed cotton. Even when it's brand new I don't believe it's waterproof though I didn't have a lab to test it thoroughly, just a regular guy standing in the rain. I didn't bother to return or re-coat it as offered and suggested by the help line. Wear it in light rain and wind for 10 minutes it's perfectly fine. The jacket is totally unlined so it's light weight and travel well, just don't let it touch your bare skin as I don't find the fabric all that breathable anyway.

by outdoorsdad Keep Dry, room to layer.
I bought this jacket after a long path of evaluating a lot of other options that all cost twice as much but did not have the LL Bean guarantee. I find the large jacket to fit my 6ft tall, 175lb size well with room for layering in the cold steelhead weather I will be using it for. The zips are good for use in warmer weather too. The wrist closure is great for my smaller diameter wrists and seals up great for arm submersions. I am thrilled with how small this packs up to fit in my sling bag while fly fishing.

After being stuck in downpours on streams in the middle of nowhere without a raincoat or with poor quality jackets, I decided I needed to purchase something better before a recent trip to Colorado. My main requirement was that the jacket needed to be packable. Even though I'm always trying to pack just the bare necessities, I always end up with way more than I actually need. So, having a packable rain jacket seemed like what I needed. When the clouds opened up at the three hour mark of a five hour guided float trip, I was very glad I had it. It was unpacked and on in about two seconds, and kept me dry for the last two hours of the trip. It takes up very little room by packing into either of the fleece-lined pockets. the fly box pockets are plenty roomy, and there are plenty of attachment points for zingers and forceps. I highly recommend this jacket.

After researching several brands of wading jackets I settled on the PacLite because it had the key features that I wanted. Since the majority of my fishing is in moderate or warm temps I wanted lite weight Gore-Tex but capable of laying for colder weather. A hood that could be rolled and pocketed was a requirement since I avoid the hood until rain is too much for a hat. Hand warmer pockets also. I was somewhat concerned about the comments on sizing but the large fits me fine (6-1/188). I tried it on with winter type layers and that works too. Haven't fished in the rain yet but wore it out in a heavy rain and it checked out fine. My only issue is that I have no idea how to make that neat folded in its pocket look shown on the site. LLB should post an instructional video! Overall very happy with the jacket.

I had my jacket on while fishing in my boat. It started to rain and I put up the hood, zippered the front and kept on fishing. I did not get wet or was I cold at all. It is a great piece of clothing for the dedicated outdoorsman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HeritageAngler The ultimate warm weather wading jacket.
Worn in combination with a long sleeve "tropical" style shirt, this jacket is the ultimate warm weather wading jacket. It breathes better than anything else I've worn, and the design is superb at keeping you dry in even the most torrential downpours.
Freedom of movement is awesome, and the quality of construction is really impressive.
This jacket is extremely light weight, but with proper layering, it'll do a great job as a 4 season wading jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jryder great jacket, odd sizing
I actually purchased this jacket for canoeing. Because of the short waist it works well when sitting in a canoe and paddling. And the water resistant cuffs also work well for paddling. I like the stowaway hood, as i often use a rain hat unless the rain is extremely heavy. the front pockets are large and very useful. Very much like the Goretex quality.
However, the sizing is strange. I am 6-1, 230 lbs, with a 38 inch waist and take a 16 1/2 collar 35 inch sleeve shirt. I normally take a Large shirt or jacket, and an extra large jacket when I know I'm going to be layering other clothing under the jacket. For this jacket I ended up after an exchange with a Tall Extra Extra Large, as the Tall Extra Large was too tight in the shoulders.

This is a light and comfortable jacket to carry and wear for summer showers. It would proably work well in a heavy rain, but I am not that dedicated yet. When I am it might rate a fifth star.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marmota A little too snug
A size XL reg. in LLB clothing normally fits me fine. But this jacket is snugger than I would like, especially for wearing over neoprene waders and fleece. For cold weather, I would suggest ordering up one size. Otherwise it is a decent jacket and very light, which is what I was looking for: something that stows away in the back of my vest for unexpected downpours..
