I have two older version in red and navy which are very wonderful with high quality and A-line back style. I got them over 20 years ago. They still work well for rainy season and winter. The coat has enough length to cover my long dress or skirt. And the fabric is heavier than new version. A-line back is very feminine and beautiful. Everything is perfect.
This new version is good. I got it in Mallard Teal. The color is much brighter than picture. It's beautiful. There are some I don't like. The fabric is lighter than older one, so it's not good for winter. And its back style is too much. It should be more simple.
I like this coat, but I want LLBean bring us the older version again. Because it's perfect.

Just received the lovely red coat which fits perfectly! I am 5'3" and weigh 150 lbs. I ordered the coat in a medium petite. The arm length is perfect. I find that Bean sleeves need to be petite for me. The coat fit over a polyester top and fleece over that. I can also where a wool blazer under it and am able to zip it. The hood fits close to my head and loops allow it to encircle the top button keeping it closed. The coat ends mid calf and that is perfect for my height.
While the coat is fairly straight up and down with no cinching at the waist, I don't mind looking like a bullet as long as I'm dry. Have not gone out in the rain yet or the warm weather to see if I stay dry without sweating! All in all, I'm pleased with the coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 Stands up to January Thaw
If you've lived in Maine, you've experienced January thaw. The temperature rises and it rains -- HARD. I bought this coat because I didn't want to get decked out in foul-weather gear to walk my dog. I also wanted a coat that would breathe and not leave me as damp inside as it was outside.
Some reviewers have noted that the material has changed -- and it has. The coat is now waterproof; before it would not have stood up the the rain of January thaw.
For me, this coat is a huge success.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GaveUpLevis Best raincoat ever
I bought mine in 1998 at the flagship store in Freeport. It has lived in New Mexico, Utah (twice), Texas and Venezuela. It has been to Italy multiple times. It folds so compactly that it fits in a roll-aboard/carry-on with a week's worth of clothes. It washes beautifully and dries within 90 minutes on a hangar. It is 15 years old, but still looks like new. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ViolinMaiden Old coat was better
This raincoat is fine. I had an older version which was wonderful. I lost it while traveling and miss it very much.
The old coat had wonderfully deep pockets and a generous hood so rain never got onto my face. The hem was long enough to cover the tops of my boots. My trousers never got wet. The fabric was heavy and warm.
This new coat has shallow pockets so my wallet fell out. The hood is shorter and does not protect as well. This coat is shorter, so my trousers get wet over the tops of my boots.. The fabric is lighter and not as warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MDY66 Good choice
My two old (10-15 years) long H2Off raincoats have lost their water repellency after repeated washings, and I needed a raincoat for travel.I ordered the 3/4 length "wool" lined coat in Large Regular but returned it because it was too big and bulky and the sleeves were too long.. I ordered a long unlined version in Petite (I am 5'5") and recently wore it to London. I did not need it on the first leg of the trip so packed it, and it came out of the suitcase looking good. The new version of the fabric seems to be fused with vinyl (?) and with layers underneath the coat should be warm enough for a trip to Europe in late March. We only had one rainy day in London but the rain beaded up on the coat. The hood looks better than the old versions with their dorky peaks, but I miss the old stand-up collar.. But the ZIPPER is so hard to close that it's a good thing this coat has buttons!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Irishpoet Waterproof! Excellent!
This coat is perfect. Thank you so much for this quality.
I am completely pleased and delighted with it.
It arrived the day before our spring rains
started and I walked miles in it and stayed dry.
I like the Lake color. Comfortable, roomy fit.
Very, very happy with it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by PetHoarder Not breathable! Sizing is askew!
Ordered this in 1X and it was too long in the arms and the length as well. If I had ordered a size smaller in petite, it would not have fit in the hips. The part that is truly unforgiveable is that it is about as breathable as a big, plastic garbage bag. This is the second type of coat that I have had to return where it advertises breathability and this is impossible seeing as it is made entirely out of fancy plastic! Wear it in the house for 5 minutes and you're dripping with sweat. This coat, after duties and taxes comes to $250! I expect a coat that is worth $250. The idea is great, the style is great, but work out the issues like arm length and overall length and make a normal hip size, all would be good. Also, get rid of the fake belt at the back, it looks strange. Too bad, because the style of the coat is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gandldero Need to repeat this coat
My best friend and I recently spent 10 minutes trying to figure out when we bought our first long raincoats from LLBean. Mine was purchased 11-12 years ago.She bought hers after that. We agree it was one of our best buys ever and we need to replace them ( and will), but also are still enjoying how completely dry they are keeping us after all this time. Can't get a better review than that. Thanks!
