Rated 5 out of 5 by Boblomo Awesome Coat!
I am very happy I bought this coat for a trip to Ireland. The coat is awesome. The size, shape and color are great. I wore it in the very windy countryside. I recommend this coat to all. It will keep you dry and protect you from the wind while looking classy and it is roomy enough to wear a sweater under for those colder days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MerryGK Disappointed-no interior cinch elastic waistband
I have been looking for an attractive yet utilitarian raincoat for many months. I noticed a co-worker at the elementary school where I work wearing a nice rain coat so I asked about her coat. It looked so feminine with the cinched waist. She graciously allowed me to wear the coat for recess duty and I was sold! However, I went to buy this coat and was so disappointed that this year's model has no interior elastic waistband so the coat appears more tent-like and less flattering than the model my co-worker owns. This coat is a great coat on many accounts - the hood, the interior pocket, the lightweight fabric, adjustable wrist snaps-I wish I could just get last year's model. LLBean, please bring back the waistband. For those that don't care for this feature it could be left alone, uncinched.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WebfootedNW Love coat, hate snap covers
Purchased for rain wear for trip as well as live in NW. Sleeves in regular longer than average. Biggest problem was snap covers on sleeves marred and scratched after a couple wearings. I don't remember hitting or rubbing anything--just normal wear. Sadly returned coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RankinRean Lovely coat, but size and pockets detract a bit
Thank goodness for online reviews! At 5 foot 8, it would never have occurred to me to buy extra-small (XS), but some reviews had commented that this coat is sized BIG and they are right. I was convinced to try XS whereas I usually buy Small. The coat fits perfectly, which is rather bizarre! Love the blue colour, detachable (zipped) hood, and styling with large, colour-matched buttons , but the pockets are not very useful, except to put your hands or a pair of gloves in. I wouldn't trust them with safely holding much else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CTLovesLLBean Perfect Fit. Love the Color.
I bought the wool lined, full-length version about 15 years ago and it has been worn so much and still looks new. I initially bought it because I was taking the bus to work and needed something that was waterproof and would keep me dry from head to toe. It has never let me down. It is roomy enough to wear a heavy sweater when wearing in snowstorms. I decided to purchase the three-quarter length for daily use and was apprehensive about the sizing. I know that vendors change and the styles get modified but I read the reviews and decided to order my regular size. Same great fit!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ride4TheBrand Love my 3/4 length Elderberry coat
Thanks to other reviewers, I was forewarned to size down as this lovely coat runs BIG!
Size Large is over-sized. Size Medium in this coat is a perfect fit for me, with ample room for ease of movement.
This beautiful Elderberry coat is the same great quality as my H2Off Jacket, which has proven itself for several years now.
Zipper works smoothly and adjustable snap cuffs & pull-string hood are great. Over-sized buttons (snaps) tastefully match the coat color perfectly---blending in rather than contrasting. Pockets are a comfortable size & depth. To top it off, it's on sale!
Five star recommendation, but consider sizing down, so you won't be left out in the rain!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Marpole Disappointing Style Update
I purchased the 3/4 length h2off coat in barn red because I have so enjoyed and appreciated wearing this coat, year-round, for more than a decade. I tell everyone that it is the perfect Vancouver coat and already have it black, plum and green. Can't begin to express my disappointment in the new boxy shape, clumsy hood attachment, no water-safe pocket flaps and matronly collar. The original had a sleek, but roomy, shape and smart stand-up collar that made it a great looking city coat and practical casual jacket. I'm sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jdm58 Best raincoat ever!!
It isn't often when you can find a coat that tics off all the boxes:
Waterproof: check. Loose enough to wear layers: check. Sleeves long enough to cover wrist with snaps to tighten: check. Removable hood: check. Double zipper: check. Snap button placket covering zipper: check. Rear belt: check. Hood sizing and coverage adjustable to fit weather conditions: check. Inverted pleat in rear: check. Lightweight and packable: check. Dressy enough for street wear, sturdy enough for camping: check. Gorgeous color: (I purchased the mallard teal# check.
I agree with a few other commenters that the coat runs large, but am actually grateful that it does. The feature eliminates the need for a second coat for all but the most extreme cold weather, since it can handle extra layers underneath. My only wish would be for L.L. Bean to offer the same features #double zipper, removable hood, button placket and rear belt with inverted pleat) on the shorter version. I would buy it for hiking in a minute if it was.

by DukeofThistle Great rain coat
This coat is perfect for Pacific Northwest weather. Great in the rain while I wait for the bus. I can layer under it for those colder days. Also can take the lining out for Spring, summer and early fall. the only complaint I have are the pockets are too shallow. I like to keep my phone in my coat pocket and I'm afraid it will fall out. I took this coast with me to ICELAND when I visited in winter. Did a good job of keeping the wind out and keeping dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jmbrb H2OFF rain jacket 3/4 length
I first ordered this jacket in S but had to return for XS even though I can wear a medium in some Bean clothes. This jacket has very long sleeves. I REALLY like the style, the cobalt color and the great hood. I do not agree that it "breathes" as it made me perspire while hiking. Lining the whole inside with the mesh fabric, including the sleeves and hood, could be helpful in that regard. Ventilation areas would also be nice. I have not yet been able to try it in a hard rain, so I cannot comment on how truly waterproof it is.
Overall, a good purchase.
