Rated 4 out of 5 by Sprucetree Way Too Big
Although this seems like a good quality raincoat, unfortunately I had to send it back right away because it was way too big for me. I have bought coats from LLBean before, the most recent one being the winter warmer coat last winter, and was basing my purchase of a size 2x on that purchase. That previous coat is a little roomy on me, but has an adjustable waist to compensate for it, and I figured this would fit roughly the same. Wrong. I had at least 24" of extra width around the body for this jacket, and this style, unlike that winter coat, does not have an adjustable waist, which I did not realize when I originally ordered it.... I recommend this coat only if you are certain of the sizing first.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CNNewYork Why is it so huge?
Just received this 3/4 length raincoat and will be returning it tomorrow. Having read the comments about its running large, I bought a size smaller than I usually wear. It is still HUGE and, therefore, has no shape whatsoever. It fits ok in the shoulders but is gigantic through the body. I wish it had a drawstring so I could make it a bit better. I am 5'5", weigh 130 pounds and oderered a Small. Can't believe it was still too big. I know the XS would be too small in the shoulders and chest, so I'll have to look for something else. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BostonTerrier Waterproof? Yes! Breathable? No so much.
I'm a professional dog walker. Waterproof is paramount to me in a raincoat, but "breathable" is relative. They don't go together. The mesh lining only covers the upper back. I pinking-sheared out the lining on the skirt of the coat, thus making it lighter and taking up less room when it's rolled up.
I like the pleat in the back, and the general A-line drape of the coat.
Here are three ways this coat could be improved:
1. Raglan sleeves
2. Armpit zips, or at least grommets.
3. Mesh lining THROUGHOUT.
Are you listening, L.L.Bean?

Rated 5 out of 5 by liveinMA I REALLY LOVE this raincoat!!
This JUST came in the mail, and I'm SO happy with it! I am petite (5'1") and curvy -- pear shaped, carrying most of my extra weight around my hips/rear/stomach. I have such a hard time finding just about any piece of clothing that fits well and is flattering, and coats are no exception. I often can't find a coat that fits around my bottom without being just way too huge on top!!!! I generally wear a PM in LL Bean clothing (though in pants, I usually wear a PL). This coat fit beautifully in the petite small. It's exactly the right size through the shoulders, the right length in the arm, and is roomy enough to accommodate my rear! It's SO flattering! I live in Boston and needed a coat like this for the spring/fall seasons, but will be traveling to Europe in June and will also definitely pack this coat along. . . I know some reviewers have reviewed this item negatively for its extra roominess -- I can only say, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE the A-LINE SHAPE! Those women have so many other choices, but women like me have such a hard time finding coats that fit, and this is perfect!!! You can tell, by the overall rating, that there are enough of us out there to keep the styling the way it is!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by extremebeanfan Disappointing
I bought the calf length version of this raincoat with wool lining. I did like the dark red color and the length. But I did not think the quality of the shell material was very good; it looked and felt cheap, and the lining did as well. Recognizing that all weather coats can be boxy, I'd still hoped for a flattering fit with the princess seams, and followed the sizing chart in my size selection. It was not at all flattering. It was out of the package long enough to try it on, back in the package, returned. Particularly disappointing because my last Bean coat is one of my favorites and fits nicely (same size selection).

Rated 4 out of 5 by nlek the raincoat i was looking for
i have bought and returned a lot of raincoats. finally this is one i can keep.
the purple color is nice, the outside fabric is nice, the lining is comfortable, the shape is what i would call true to size (i normally use size XL and the XL fit me, whereas i was expecting to need a 1X), the length is good for walking to work. i haven't tried it in rain yet.
the only negative is that my husband says the style is for somebody older (he says that about everything from LLBean) but i don't care because in the rain nobody is going to be thinking about fashion.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SMBrdg Quit changing the sizes!
I have two H2Off raincoats purchasedseveral years ago. I have loved them--one black and one blackberry. Since we are going to Florida, I decided I needed a lighter color for the sunny, warmer temperatures.
I tried the same size as my other two---Regular Medium. Sleeves too long by a couple of inches. Way too big through the body.
Sent it back to exchange for Regular Small. Sleeves okay. Too tight through the shoulders. Too short. I will return it, too.
Oh, how I long for a khaki H2Off raincoat that fits like the other two!

Rated 3 out of 5 by n001 nice coat, impractical collar
This jacket is nice and light, and generally fits ok for ladies such as myself who have hips. But the collar is a total deal breaker. Its flimsy and just won't stand up to constant use. Unfortunately this will be going back to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NOTaDUCK Awesome - but runs really big!
I generally wear a size 12 or medium. I ordered a size M, and it is huge. I could almost fit two of me into it. Even with a bulky fleece, the jacket would still be way too big for me. I reordered a size S.

Overall the coat was nice, but the sleeves were a real problem for me. They were long and only had a band with two buttons to tighten it. The bands were not attractive and they didn't function well at all. One sleeve tightened more than the other, but neither side was tight enough not to be too long or to stay in place. If they redesigned the sleeves, it would be a good raincoat.
