Rated 4 out of 5 by Marer Follow up review..setting the record straight..
In my earlier review, I mistakenly stated that I would need to pay for return shipping to exchange a defective shirt. Well, I was wrong. I contacted Bean through web chat..and Melissa ordered me a new shirt..the package will include paperwork so I can return defective shirt for free ! Bean stands by their merchandise. Thank you, LL Bean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Marer Flimsy material..ripped on first wearing!
I ordered two of these shirts for my spouse. A yellow and the light blue..appears to be a great summer shirt. The first time he wore the blue, it ripped ! No recall of catching it on something. I will be sending this back and do want to exchange for another shirt. The yellow shirt has worn well to date.
What really bothers me is in order to return a defective item, I am charged $6.50 for the privilege !! I do not have the Bean credit card...seems to me a customer should not be charged to exchange a defective item. I hope Bean will reconsider this policy.

This shirt was comfortable. But the large size was a little snug. Will send back for a larger size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bighorndon Beware of "Twill" Shirts
Unfortunately the "Wrinkle-Free Twill Sport Shirt has the look and feel of a very cheap shirt. My bad for not understanding that "Twill" was code for "backwoods". I could not see myself wearing it in public so my "good deal" shirt is on it's way back to Bean. Disappointing.

Never laundered and never wore this shirt. I returned it immediately (for an exchange) because of many loose threads. Some were totally loose and just caught under stitching and I only had to pull them away. But others seemed to be part of the stitching and I had to cut them off. When I eventually got tired of that I just decided to return the shirt for an exchange.
Note by the way that a tag in the shirt says "wrinkle resistant" although the online info says "wrinkle free".
Material looked nice, but as I said I never wore it.
(I was forced to say whether I would recommend this item to a friend. So I said yes, but that assumes that the shirt I receive in exchange has many fewer loose threads and that the shirt is really wrinkle free and that it's comfortable.)

Sorry, folks. The fabric felt really cheap and flimsy, so I had to return it. Too bad, I really liked the aqua blue color.

Just got this shirt. Beautiful, soft fabric. Washed it for the first time and it came out without a wrinkle. Really looks and feels classy. Highly recommended.

by MannyM Good shirt, I want the discontinued color
Very nice shirt. At a clearance outlet in Maine, I found one with kaki and beige lines on a cream background (see photo). I love the color but it is not available anymore. Why?

Rated 2 out of 5 by BobG1234 Poor Immune System (Not So Wrinkle Resistant)
Disappointed in the wrinkle resistance of this shirt. I've washed it only once and took it out of the dryer after it was dry but before the dryer had stopped. It didn't look good enough to wear without being touched up. What's so disappointing is that I have similar shirts from L. L. Bean purchased around 2 years ago which come out of the dryer looking perfect. Why did they mess with a good thing?
Also note that there is a tag in the collar of this shirt attached on only one edge, so that the other three edges are free to irritate your neck. I point that out because the tag does not appear in the photo on the web site that I am looking at at the moment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LindaABC Nice Shirt, but It Wrinkles
My husband has this shirt in three different colors. It's a nice shirt. Fits like it should. But, it has to be ironed to look nice enough to wear to work in a casual setting. There is another shirt on this website--something like the "Kennebunk Sport" that actually comes out of the drier looking wrinkle-free enough to wear without ironing. It's not quite as heavy as this one, but it's great under a sweater. This one is fine; it just needs to be ironed to look nice.
