I bought this looking for a light weight rain coat. It arrived yesterday and I realized that it the exact same fabric as an old LL Bean coat I already have. The old coat is NOT waterproof and it doesn't breath. It's fine for a drizzle or heavy fog but not actual rain. We're supposed to have an El Nino this year and I'm not sure if I want to wait for the rain to find out if this any better then the old coat. LL Bean ships for free but returns cost money but I may return it anyway

I have this jacket in the now seemingly retired BRIGHT yellow (which I love and urge LL Bean to return!!!). I love this jacket. Have I mentioned how much I love this jacket? It's the perfect weight, the perfect size (Petite Med, I'm 5'3" 175lb), and the perfect color. I can't tell you how many compliments I get while wearing this jacket, especially when I'm wearing red lipstick. It's a wardrobe staple. It's absolutely waterproof, perfectly windproof, and while the lining did start to wear, I had no problem with it since I wore it so often. Even in winter with a few layers, it was the perfect coat. I really can't say enough about it. It has become my statement piece!

I purchased the raincoat & the inner coating peeled off around the collar. I returned & it was replaced but the same thing happened to that one. I was told it would probably happen over time on any of them but I only owned it for a year. I ended up buying a more expensive one that hopefully won't have this problem. My brother had the same problem with his.

I found this jacket to be well made and true to size. Petite is perfect! Wore this jacket for several hours during rainy weather and was completely dry at the end of the day. No lining makes this jacket perfect for layering.

Bought this jacket for a recent cruise to the Baltic and was so disappointed to find that it is NOT breathable! In fact, two minutes after wearing it, I noticed that I was perspiring and my arms were wet soon after. The lining of the jacket is like plastic, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Such a shame, because it has everything else going for it. LLBEAN: Please make a breathable jacket that is also waterproof and windproof and doesn't leave its wearer wet inside. My jacket will be going back.

I love this jacket but am returning it because the white "lining" on the material is flaking off after a few uses. I'm disappointed because I LOVE this coat but when I take it off I've got white flakes all over my neck.
Thank you LLBean for your promise to stand by your merchandise and issue a refund since I am not happy with my coat.

This is a well made medium weight jacket that keeps you dry. Nice features include deep zip mesh pockets, substantial two-way zipper, a storm collar with snaps to protect in fierce weather, inside mesh pockets, and a Velcro tab option to close the coat if you don't want to zip up. I am 150 lb and 5' 5" and bought the extra large which gives ample room to layer under it for use all year long. I layer with LL Bean's Wind Challenger fleece jacket and stay warm and dry. I have one in Navy and another in a discontinued snazzy granny apple green color. The navy jacket zipper became dysfunctional after 6+ years of hard use, but the jacket is still going strong. Great jacket!

I got this in a Petite M because I like roomy jackets (normally I go for PS). Color was periwinkle blue. It's so light and so rainproof. Just a welcome item. Highly recommend it. I'm 5'3", about 116 lbs. The petite M is just the right size for going over a fleece.

I have always been impressed with the quality and durability of L.L.Bean clothing. But this jacket is disappointing. After wearing only through 1 season, the inner layer is separating at the back of the neck along the seam line. The grey is just peeling away.

I have always known LL Bean for their quality, so I was extremely disappointed with this jacket. I have a job that requires me to be outside regardless of the weather, so I was looking for a good quality waterproof jacket. I wore this jacket only once in a light drizzle and was soaked through in an hour. This jacket could maybe be advertised as water resistant, but NOT waterproof as it states. It gets 2 stars only because the one good thing is LL Bean's great return policy.
