Rated 5 out of 5 by BigBadScientist Really quite pleased
Ordered this jacket in Teal Shadow last spring, and so far am very pleased with it. It's quite warm and has worn well -- the "skid pads" on the forearms and elbows are a great idea to increase sturdiness and avoid that awful, shiny look that worn fleeces can get. In terms of sizing, this jacket is neither "humungous" nor "masculine" as mentioned by someone below. It IS roomier than it looks -- the picture of the model wearing it is really quite deceiving, because if you're looking for a tight, yoga-jacket-ish fleece, this is not the one for you. I'm close to 5'9", and the XL is big enough to support wearing another fleece underneath (for all my walking adventures during this godawful winter!) with room to spare without looking bulky. They're a fantastic deal when they're on sale -- my mother owns three. :)

This is very comfortable jacket. Not too hot to wear inside but keeps you warm outside. I wear a Petite Large but had to order a size down. The longer cut back is feminine and flattering. Similar to North Face Denali but fits better for women who are larger on top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLinSF Excellent jacket, size is *not humongous
Just got this jacket yesterday and love it -- I've been wearing it as much as possible! I got the petite medium in Star White, and disagree with the previous reviewer who said she was swimming in it -- I'm 5' 4", used the size chart, and the jacket fits perfectly.
(I think it's important to note that the reviewer said that sizing is challenging for her, so I'm not sure why she put the product down for not fitting her. Sizes and size charts vary by company -- I'm a 'large' at one company and a 'medium' at another -- so I've found it most helpful to use them as a general guide. My sister in NY says a saleslady once told her she'd seen women rip clothes trying to get into them just because they insisted that they were that size.)
The jacket is super-warm, but breathes and vents well. It also builds up heat quickly and holds it, especially due to the black nylon panels. A few times I thought I might overheat after just a few minutes of having it on.
The panels on the elbows are also super-useful for keeping the fleece off surfaces like desks, which is especially great for a white jacket like this one.
I also would not call the fit masculine; it's exactly how it looks in the picture. If you're looking for a fitted yoga-style jacket, this isn't it. But it it is an outdoors jacket: it would be a great layer under a lined or unlined outer shell, and could also take a fitted runner's-style shell underneath it. Really versatile, and the fleece is very soft and nice.
Also, yes, the label inside the collar does say 'Made in Jordan'. Based on how great this jacket is, I'd say more stuff should be made in Jordan!

Rated 3 out of 5 by CarmenSandiego Size is HUMONGOUS; Fit is masculine; Good quality
I'm a petite 5'1" with narrow shoulders and hips, but 34DDD chest. I'm basically an XS petite everywhere but my chest, which makes sizing challenging. I've purchased anywhere from XS (when there's room in the chest) to L (when there's not) in the past.
This was my first Bean purchase so I went according to the chart, specifically the chest measurement. I got a Medium petite and oh golly! was I swimming in it. The shoulder extends 2" too long and I can grab handfuls of cloth everywhere -- EVEN around my chest. The arm length is 1" too long and I have long arms.
My correct size is definitely XS petite (with room to layer), but I can imagine many people needing something smaller.
In addition to HUMONGOUS sizing, the fit is way too boxy and masculine. Think, frumpy! There is no waist to speak of.
The cloth quality, on the other hand, is durable, warm and well finished. The nylon edging is useful in the rain or snow, but it adds a "techie" look to the garment. Mine said "Made in Jordon".
Overall, I recommend this only for outdoor activities (practical, warm) and not for running around in the city (too frumpy). Also, ignore the size chart and order 1-2 sizes down? especially if you have my similar body type.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Limestone Deceivingly warm!
Hesitated about ordering this since I'm not a "pink gal", but decided to get it and am very pleased. Wore it on a beach hike yesterday a.m. - temps in the high 30s but a "wet cold". I stayed warm & comfortable w/o the bulk of a heavier jacket. Nice inside pockets for keys & outside pockets zip to avoid losing gloves. Agree w/previous poster who recommended a detachable hood - would be the perfect addition.

About three years ago, I bought this jacket at the LL Bean flagship store in Freeport. I always loved it, even though it didn't come in petite and I had to roll up the sleeves. After all that time and almost daily wear in the winter, the zipper started to stick, so I returned it. The jacket now comes in petite and I ordered it in black. The fleece seems a little thinner than the original, but it was a cold windy day here today and I was perfectly comfortable. No rolled up sleeves and it's not too long on me as was the regular. Runs true to size, with enough room for a couple of thin layers underneath. Great active wear jacket, or perfect just for casual dress.

Rated 2 out of 5 by amazonfan disappointed with zipper
The fabric is fabulous-warm and soft. The fit is good. But when I tried it on the zipper immediately split apart at the bottom. I down-zipped, tried again, and the same thing happened. The quality of LL Bean products, especially the clothing, is nothing like it used to be.I have returned several items for this reason.

Love these - have 2. Fit is right on, sleeves are long enough, not too wide in body.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MAEventer Very nice jacket, but fit is wrong for me
I liked this jacket a lot, but the fit was not great for me. It fit across the shoulders, but it was HUGE everywhere else. The sleeves were big and long (and I got the petite). The torso was also huge and just hung on me. If you are athletic with bigger shoulders and a leaner torso, I doubt this will work for you. I had read other similar reviews, but decided to try it. Sadly, it will go back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VAoutdoorsgirl Another best from Bean!
Such a warm fleece... Beats the competition. Well-made and attractive. I have it in Carolina blue and black. Love the longer back for full coverage during activities such a bending over. Such a great product, I own 2 and purchased one for my husband as well. My MIL and SIL also purchased this fleece. Thanks for another winner!
