I love these shorts. They do run big, but they are adjustable and very comfortable. The pockets are perfect for carrying a phone, or anything needed. The pockets aren't shallow like a lot of women's shorts. I will probably buy another pair.

These are terrific for those who just can't abide the tighty shorts. They provide some padding and none of the binding that I've found with others.

I usually wear a large, but remembering that catalogs often size the clothes a bit larger I ordered a medium and it was perfect.
I agree with others who said they are a bit short, especially on a bike. But the inside spadex w padding can be removed and worn with capris or whatever you wish. The shorts are stylish and light enough to be used a travel shorts by themselves.
My husbands bike shorts were longer and exactly the same size he actually wears.
Very comfortable to wear.

Normally I wear XL in bike shorts because they run small but that is not the case with these shorts. After reading reviews I decided to order my normal clothes size of Large and these shorts are still too big. Its great for my self esteem, lol, so I have ordered a Med but have not received them yet. Definitely order a size smaller.

I wanted biking shorts that offered more coverage when destination bound. However these were of heavier fabric than I would be able to wear in the warmth of FL. The fit was a bit larger, but they were comfortable. If I lived in a colder climate, I would probably keep them.

Most days I'm fine wearing lycra bike shorts, but sometimes we are stopping on our ride to do some site seeing, and then I am not comfortable without shorts over the lycra. Although in the past I have just worn running shorts over the bike shorts, these Bean shorts look better, and if I want, I can detach the padded liner for riding and then put on the shorts when we stop of if I get cold.
As others have suggested, order a size smaller: I generally wear medium but purchased small.

these worked well for a two day trip with 22 miles each day. the second day i wore the liner padding inside jeans and they made the ride much more comfortable while allowing warmth with the jeans. fantastic purchase and i REALLY wish i had enjoyed the previous three annual rails to trails rides with these bike shorts...!

I have had these shorts for a few weeks and have washed them and dried them in the dryer (I missed the directions to line dry). They came out fine, no shrinkage or other issues. I agree with several other reviewers that the waist is huge. According to the chart I should wear a large which is what I bought. If I don't cinch in the waist using the adjustable tabs these would fall off. But every other part fits fine so I will keep them and use the adjustable tabs. If I loose some more weight I will have to get a medium. The liner elastic leg band around the thigh does ride up as I peddle so I have to pull them down when I stop for a break. I really like the color (a soft dark grey) and the fabric. The padding is wonderful. I have also worn these shorts without the liner and they are very nice looking. I give it a 4 because of the waist.

These shorts are perfect in that they look as if you are wearing regular shorts (for those of us who aren't all that comfortable in public in spandex). They're nicely padded in the seat (which doesn't show from the outside) have pockets, specifically a zipped pocket for a cell phone or GPS gadget, and are a nice length ... if you're not inclined to wear spandex, it's possible you're also not apt to wear too short of shorts. Overall, great. The one big drawback is the waist on these is HUGE. Really, it's outlandishly big. Since these are specifically for women, shouldn't the waist be smaller than the hips? (Are you listening LLBean?) Before I reluctantly return them, I will check to see if they can be altered, or if the discrepancy is just too great. So, to sum up, I am really happy with these and terribly disappointed at the same time :-(

Like the bike shorts. They run large but comfortable. I would have liked them even more if they were longer in length evn the over shorts could be longer. Overall they are what I expected.
