These are like what we used to call mountain biking pants or shorts. I love the weight, they are very light but substantial enough to block some of the wind. The sizing is definitely odd. I ordered L, usually I wear XL. These fit through the thighs with some ease, even for someone with bigger thighs, and are too big in the waist, which could be fixed easily by an internal drawstring. BUT I think after being laundered they are going to be just right. And the rise is quite high, they come up to the belly button, but for bike riding that is going to be good, because my upper backside won't be shining in the bent over biking position. I only give 4 star because the sizing is so odd, but in every quality measure these are well worth the reasonable price. I put them on this morning and they are definitely in the top 3 of my active pants wardrobe.

The reviews that I read were right on....the waist could use a drawstring or possible side waist elastic, but I really like the pants and the sizing was great for me. The padding did make a difference on my bike ride and I like that the outer pants are light weight.

I like these for biking without the second skin lycra look. They seem well made and have good features. But, as others have noted, the sizing is bizarre. I normally wear a medium and ordered a small based on others' reviews. The inner pants fit fine, snugly. But the outer pants are very large in the waist, perhaps 1-2" too large. I feared ordering an XS because of the inner pants. I'll keep these pants and figure I will always wear a shirt over them, but this does seem very strange.

The capris run large in the waist and hips , so I had to return the Medium I usually wear in LLBean clothes for a Small. (I'm 5'6", 138 lbs.) The liner elastic around the thighs seems a bit tight, but I expect this will loosen with wear. The padding in the liner is comfortable so far, but I haven't taken these for a ride of any distance yet. The capris have lots of useful, well-placed pockets, and they're "dressy" enough that you will feel comfortable stopping to sightsee or to eat in restaurants along your route. I bought these for a European biking trip and didn't want to wear skin-tight bike shorts in cathedrals, museums, etc.

Nice cycling Capri's with cycling shorts inside. Great for cooler spring weather cycling. The sizes run a little large, I ordered a small at first, usually small in cycling pants fit well, but these were much too roomy for cycling shorts. I ended up with an XS and they fit great.

I was looking for a biking capri at a reasonable price and found them here. I read the reviews and ordered a size down as suggested and they fit good- both the bike liner and the capri. I would give it 5 stars but I wished the the legs of the capris could be gathered - they do flap when biking. The upside is you can use the capri part for hiking or other activities making it multipurpose. I am pleased with this purchase. I am 5"8" and weigh 167 and carry my weight in my hips and thighs ( from lots of biking!!) and I ordered a medium. Hope this helps for those of you on the fence about ordering. I'm glad I did.

This is the 2nd pair of these that I have purchased. I have had the old ones for a couple of years and they are comfortable, flexible and forgiving, as well as, looking great. When I bought the 2nd pair I wasn't sure of the size I had purchased prior and used the sizing guidelines which indicated a M. However, after checking the 1st pair I realized that they were S. The good news is that it doesn't really matter because they are both comfortable and can be adjusted a great deal around the waist and still look good.

I really appreciate the adjustable waist on these capris. Most styles I have tried do not have this adjustability and are not very flattering as a result. Amount of pockets and their placement is a plus as well- I can bring my phone and some cash and off I go!

Looked like a nice product but the sizing was crazy. Normally wear a M, ordered a S. The liner was really snug, the outer layer was way too big.
