I wore out my first LL Bean Futon Mattress and loved it so much that i had to purchase another.
No doubt about it, LL Bean products are always awesome and shopping online is just the ticket for me as i live in NE.

This is my third futon mattress in 20 years and my first from LLBean. I find the LLBean mattress to be a good bit thicker and heavier than the futon mattresses I have purchased in the past. It stands up nicely and is quite comfortable. I will actually be happy when it packs down a little bit. The non slip material that was included is a nice touch and works very well keeping this substantial mattress from slipping on my frame.

I purchased the mission style futon, mattress, and cover. The wooden futon base is very nice. The mattress, or cover, has an odor that has not gone away since the four weeks I have had this. I am not sure which one is causing the smell. I can't even begin to describe it except that it is something between a skunk and a very elderly old grandparent smell. Not fun. Also the whole mattress slides down on the wooden base and hangs off on the front end of the couch. Save your money and stay away. I would have returned it, but I don't have the boxes any more and the return shipping would be a hassle.

this mattress is just as my title says, awful. It is described as being 7.5 inchs thick; it's not. When it first arrived I thought it appeared to be less than that measurement, so I measured it; it was just about 5.5 inches thick. We're had it for not even one week and after merely siting on it it's matted down to about 4" inches thick. We can actually feel the support boards under it.....
If I could give this a 0 star rating, I would.

Comfy mattress, nice and thick so you don't feel the wood braces underneath. As usual a great product, just what I expect from LL Bean.

I bought my futon frame, mattress and slipcover/bolsters from LLBean about 10 years ago. I recently decided the futon could use an up-grade again and was so pleased to see that LLBean was still carrying the futon mattress. The price on replacing it was outstanding. I personally do not feel this futon and frame are something anyone would want to sleep on unless you were in a pinch only because the fold in the futon mattress, from being used as a sofa, is uncomfortable to sleep on for an adult. However, I think the construction of the mattress, the futon frame, and slipcover/bolsters, have all been of excellent quality--what I truly expect from LLBean, and what they consistently deliver.

We have just had our first guests use the futon mattress and they said it was very good. We are only concerned about the smell that the mattress has and hope that over time that will disappear. It arrived quickly and we always appreciate LLBean's standards and guarentee to back their products, which is why look to purchase from LLBean when we can.
