The boots were a gift. The recipient was pleased and enjoyed their looks as well as the fit. The size was accurate if one wears medium weight socks of either wool or cotton. They are light in weight but sturdy. As they were a gift, I cannot add more beyond the above comments.

The perfect hiking boot for trail, or urban streets.
Incredibly comfortable, great support, keep your feet dry and warm outdoors. I had expected them to be hot when indoors, but to my surprise and delight, they are just as comfortable indoors.
I would recommend a 1/2 size larger.

Recently ordered these boots as replacement for a nice comfortable LL Bean Hiking boot that fell apart on a hike after about five years. Chose these for the combination of price, intended use, and reviews. I haven't hiked in them yet - it is winter in Maine after all! They fit true to size and I have worn them around a couple of times to try them on and to start the "wearing in" process. Remarkably comfortable out of the box! My only concern so far is that the ankle support that I will want when hiking will be dependent on how tight I can tie the boots. So far, the combination of next-to-top nylon eyelet and plastic-clip top eyelet has made it difficult to fully tighten the ankle support. I will need to figure this out when I have heavier socks on.

I've only had these boots for about a month now. I bought them for their looks, lightweight, and the few positive reviews I read. I must admit that there were many negatives reviews indicating sole separation, lugs falling off and lack of waterproofness. However, as indicated, I have these boots for about a month now and have worn them everyday. From the start they were and are very comfortable. No break-in required. I've worn them on moderate hikes almost daily. Hikes were 3 to 5 miles over moderate terrain. Early morning hikes began through wet grass and they seemed to shed the water OK. Thus far the boots are performing extremely well without any problems. I know that its been only about 4 weeks, however, they do have some miles on them. Thus far I am pleased and do recommend them.

At the recommendation of the L.L.Bean website, I ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size, and Bean was correct. The slightly larger boot fit my feet perfectly.
After hiking a few mountain trails on these boots, I think they are very comfortable, in part because of the wide toe box. I also like the fact that there's thick rubber that wraps over the toes and offers extra impact protection. The boots are definitely waterproof. I marched through some shallow streams and a lot of mud, and the water stayed out.
Overall this is a great hiking boot with nice lugs and grippy rubber. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I live in the country and am an avid fisherman; so, I needed hiking boots that were light weight, comfortable and waterproof. The on-line customer service representative recommended the Keen Targhee boots, and I could not be happier. The service and product were right on!

I want to love these boots. They are comfortable and have worn well with the exception of the nylon webbing through which the laces pass. Just before the one year anniversary one broke and now five are broken rendering the boots unusable for serious hiking. I noticed that the warranty specifically excludes claims on the webbing. I have done many hikes in them with a 25-28 pound backpack. I had to lace them tight to avoid movement of my foot and they worked quite well until the webbing broke. They represented a big expense for me and to have them last barely a year was a huge disappointment

Fit as expected. Very comfortable. I put on 4 coats of shoe water proofing before I wore them. Recommended to me by a friend who is a serious outdoor enthusiast. Out of the box I would say they are only damp proof.

Hiking shoes appear very rugged and extremely comfortable. Didn't need any break-in for short hike. Don't know about waterproof ability. Had to order 1/2 size larger (size 44 European is size 10 US).

I absolutely love these boots. I'm on my second pair. I wear them 12-16 hours a day (I work "on my feet" all day). I am so much less fatigued at the end of the day than with many previous brands. The fit is perfect from the first time I put them on. I have 2 issues with these boots which I have chosen to live with because otherwise they are perfect. On my first pair, the eylets started failing after a few weeks until most of them broke in a few months. I had to create some interesting lacing to continue to wear them. However this has not been the case on the second pair. Also, these "waterproof" boots remain waterproof for about a month. That has been the case with both pairs. Fortunately I don't usually work around water, but the occasional mud puddle can ruin your day.
