You may need a larger size as they tend to run small. The order was timely deleivered and the quality of the shoe is excellent. I like and trust LL Bean's quality of product and service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris41305 AT Thruhike Tested
I went through 3 pair of these shoes on AT thruhike (2012). performed well, averaged about 500 to 700 miles a pair (depending on ruggedness of terrain) before treads wore out. had one pair with seam ripping after 200 miles in white mountains and LLBean shipped new pair immediately. Note I was stuck in Virginia and needed to purchase a new pair of shoes and couldn't wait for delivery and purchased a different pair of Merrills and my feet were killing me after a 100 miles and then purchased a pair of keens and they were ok, but after I received another pair of these at Harper's Ferry, my feet felt great. If you are going to carry a heavy backpack then my advice is purchase these and not another pair without the support these have (it is worth the extra few bucks) These shoes grip well on rocks (even wet rocks) snow (yup, hiked through a couple of days of snow 6 inches deep). Strong arch support to carry 200 lbs plus 50 pound pack. you WILL NOT have to purchase after market insoles with these shoes. Note, they are narrow but stretch out well in a couple of days.. when soacked they breathe well enough to keep feet from rotting (if you use llbean hiking socks wich also perform well). (note: except for a couple of hiking boots, even though these are waterproof your feet will get wet...after hiking in torrential rain and through inches of waterlogged trails, they get soaked)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bigfoot13 Fits Very Small
I wear a size 13 shoe, but could probably wear a 12.5 if it existed. These fit more like 12's than 13's. No toe room. Smallest size 13 shoes I have ever tried on. Had to return them. Otherwise, shoes seem fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by misawabrat Excellent Walking/Hiking Shoe
I normally am frugal with my money and typically would pass on spending $145 on a pair of walking shoes. I've worn a lot of inexpensive $30 shoes that wore out fast and had little arch support. I decided to treat myself to a high quality pair of shoes just to see the difference for myself, and have not been disappointed. The coonstruction, comfort, and arch support are top notch. I have only had the shoes for a couple of months, but am completely satisfied with my purchase, and think "cost versus quality" of the product is reasonable. I am curious to see how quickly the soles will wear out over time, but will just have to wait and see.

I am sold on Merrell - good quality shoes and provide good support. It's like part shoe and part boot.
