This is much bigger and sturdier than I expected. We haven't used it yet, but as it is, it's very impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Catahoula Nice target for the price
I was skeptical when I bought this target due to it's low cost as compared to some of the others but I'm pretty happy with it. It stops my arrows shot from a 345fps crossbow at 20 yards just before the fletching with broadheads and right at the fletching with field points. The arrows pull out without having to use a arrow puller as long as you don't stack them too close together. They do require some effort but it is manageable. The handle makes it easy to carry and LL Bean provided free shipping which is a big plus also. The sides are marked as to which is for broadheads and which is for field points. In my experience, if you get this mixed up and shoot the broadhead side with a field point, it will pass completely through and keep on happily going minus your fletching. It would be nice if the overall target size was a little bigger but that would be in a perfect world. I would buy another one when this one wears out.

This target is exactly as advertised. Things I particularly like are 1) the weight and 2) the carrying handle. Together they make it easy to move the target around. But despite its surprisingly light weight, it has good arrow stoppage.
I wish the colors were a little brighter but that's such a small thing, it's almost not worth mentioning

Bought this to shoot with my one crossbow. With 150# and 300 fps it stopped the 20" bolts about 12" in. Next I shot my Barnett Penetrator into it which is 175# and 350 fps. They were stopped just short of the fletching at 20 yds. About 15" penetration at 50 yds. If it could hold out with that speed, it can handle any type of compound bow. Well worth the money!

I use it for kids to shoot and for myself to tune in broadheads. It has held up for 1.5 years.

I think this target is a great value. I've worn out a bunch of the bag targets, the ones made of a material that looks like synthetic grain bags stuffed with rags and fibers. The cheapest ones usually sell for about the same price as the Black Hole target. Sometimes a little less when they're on sale. The key thing here is that I have worn out a bunch of them. The number of arrows I've stuck into this Black hole target would have worn out a bag target by now. The Black Hole shows no sign of wear yet. I'm shooting field points in my basement from a 50lb. recurve at 25'. At that short distance a lot of arrows are hitting the same spot. Knocks and fletching are taking a beating but the Black Hole is standing up very well.
The Black Hole does a great job stopping arrows. A bag target with as many arrows in it would be letting all my arrows poke through the back side. The only arrows that poke through the Black Hole are the new micro diameter carbon arrow. These go through about an inch. I don't find this to be a fault. Outdoors at 40 yards these arrows, with bullet target points, go through my half inch plywood backstop.
I could easily give it a five start rating because it really is a great value. The only negative I can report is the grip it has on arrows. It takes a good tug to pull them out.

This is an awesome target. I get one for my husband every year. He shoots 4-5 times per week, every week, 20-50 shots per time. It litterly lasts 1 year with super heavy shooting. He only uses feild points for practice, once in a while a broard head. It holds up and is tough. Easy to handle and store. It heals its self well. He just loves it and as long as LL Bean keeps getting them I will keep buying them each year.

This target starting out well taking field points. When I switched to broad heads, it very quickly started to loose chunks out of the face of the target. I have had the target about two months and it is about done with its usefulness. The product does not accept broad heads as stated, I think the same thing would happen in this target in a larger size.

I've shot ~150 arrows into it so far and it seems none the worse for the wear. The strike points heal themselves very well. I've hit the side a few times and it still grabbed and stopped the arrows. The strap handle makes it easy to grab with the rest of my gear when I'm heading out to the backyard to practice. A satisfying thwump when hit is a beautiful sound. Worth the price.
