Rated 3 out of 5áby freebieandthebean Not bad, not perfect
24 hours after purchase, I can say the following:
Nice styling. Nice color choices.
NO visible branding/logo to speak of. HUGE plus in my book.
Seems more than adequate in the warmth department.
It passed my "spray it with water from the sink gun to test it's water reistance" test well. (I saw that others had differing opinions on this aspect of coat.)
Generally feels good.
Outer pockets are small, and only three total. Good luck if you want to carry big gloves, a hat, and scarf with you.
Does seem to attract some lint/debris on the dark color.
A little too short. Could use a few more inches in length.
Outer shell only has 3 pockets total inside and out. This is not enough for those days you go without fleece lining. (Liners adds some additional pockets.) A big flaw to me.
The oft-mentioned issues with the fleece liner. This is not a huge issue though.
You could do better, and you could do worse. I'd recommend it to a friend with the above caveats.

My husband really likes this jacket. Using both pieces together, he wears it all winter and stays very warm. The layers worn individually throughout the rest of the year make it a very versatile garment! Nice array of pockets. It runs true to size. Thanks, LLBean, for offering tall sizes. The Nautical Red/Graphite is a very nice color combination. Jacket still looks great after much use!

Rated 4 out of 5 Storm Chaser 3-in-1 Jacket
This may sound a little picky but I purchased the same jacket 9-10 years ago. Nothing but kudos for that jacket. Only had to order a new one because it started to look worn. The pocket sizes in the new version were made smaller and not as deep. I don't think that the fact the new version is made in Thailand versus the older version being made in Bangladesh is the issue. More than likely they were trying to save a few bucks in cost. The pockets won't hardly hold anything. Can't put more than a pair of gloves in them and because they are shallow other objects will fall out. Haven't been in the rain yet to see if the seams have issues.

Rated 2 out of 5áby DaveNJ Not water resistant
I just purchased this jacket yesterday in NJ and today I already have issues with it. It is lightly snowing here today and while shoveling my driveway certain areas of the jacket started to feel cold. I went inside and the fleece was wet. The fleece was wet at the elbows and on my back, I wasn't sweating but the outer jacket was wet inside and out. Not happy. I had a tuckerman jacket before this and loved it until the seam in the hood ripped. Now I wish I hadn't turned that coat in.

Rated 5 out of 5áby grampyale Great all-around winter jacket
I've been wearing this jacket consistently for most of the winter. I like that it's comfortable, fairly lightweight and not very bulky. I also like the versatility of wearing just the liner or the outer shell in spring or fall. The outer shell is water resistant making it perfect for rainy or drizzly days. It also has a nice rain hood that folds up into the collar. The outer shell also seems to be provide decent protection from the wind.
While this is a good all-around winter jacket, I feel it's not the warmest option on bitterly cold days. I typically wear heavy sweatshirts, but even with that I find the jacket a little too light at temperature below freezing - especially when I'm out for extended periods of time. A minor inconvenience is that the sleeves of my shirts tend to get caught up in the liner sleeves when I'm putting the jacket on.
All-in-all I'm very pleased with this jacket and I would definitely recommend it. This was my first purchase on-line from L.L. Bean and it was a remarkable experience. Customer service was very responsive to my questions and shipping was extremely fast.

Rated 2 out of 5áby AlsReview It's NOT a water-resistant jacket!
When the jacket arrived, I liked the tailoring and color. I wore it to shovel outside during a snowstorm and much to my dismay found it to be anything but waterproof. When I took it off, the inside of the shell was soaked. The only thing protecting me from getting just as wet was the fleece liner. One of the reasons I bought it was because it was advertised as water resistant.Too bad... I had to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Flagran Perfect for winter days and even skiing!
I chose this jacket for my son who lives in Texas. He was heading to Colorado for skiing and it arrived right before he left. He substituted this for his regular Ski Jacket and loved it! Now it is his regular choice for cold weather and traveling. Great choice!

Rated 4 out of 5áby BMiller13 Nice and Warm
This is my first purchase from LL Bean and I am satisfied with this jacket. I love that its a 3 in 1 so I can just wear the fleece when its not quite cold enough for the a heavy coat. I live in New England and this jacket arrived just before a big winter storm! It was much warmer than I imagined. I spent some time outside shoveling snow and actually was sweating while wearing this jacket. The main reason why I chose this jacket is because of the quality of the brand and the LL Bean guarantee should I have any problems with it. The only issue I have with the jacket is the outer shell is a lint magnet. Right out of the box it was covered in lint. This was not a deal breaker for me but it could be for some. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and will be a returning customer!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Elodea Great coat
I've had this coat for a few years now and it has held up perfectly. It's warm with all the layers involved, and I often remove the shell to use as a light rain coat in the warmer months. The hood is also helpful and well sized. I'm 5'9 and skinny and the medium fits pretty well.

Rated 2 out of 5áby ffocusjoe I'd prefer a neater fit
This is my second go round with LL and the first time was a charm.
The storm chaser jacket is warm and with considerable adjustment looks great. The operative word is "considerable". There is only one issue. The removable inner lining is larger than the exterior jacket.
The lining sleeves are at least one inch longer than the exterior and require adjustment every time you put the jacket on. The only time I didn't have to make this adjustment is when I wear a short sleeved shirt.
The bottom of the lining hangs past the bottom of the exterior jacket. To avoid this, you absolutely have to pull the draw strings.
If you do not do these things, the jacket lacks the classy look of LL. These things are not deal killers, especially with some of the LL specials. But please be aware.
