I bought these to replace our Iverson snowshoes. The bindings on the Iverson's are hard to use with gloves on so I decided to give these a try. I love them, easy to get on easy to get off. They are also so much easier to maneuver than the Iverson shoes, they are a much smaller foot print. This allows me to get through the woods and brush so much easier. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is I think the weight ranges are wrong. We snow shoe in all sorts of snow, usually breaking new trails and I think I should have bought the next size up. I bought the 150-200 lb., I weigh 175 lbs and I am sinking in the snow to much.
My dog wanted me to give the ski poles 5 stars, she found the disc and hand grips an exceptional chew toy. If dogs rated LL Bean it would be all 5 stars, she also loves my Wicked Good Slippers for their chew ability.

My wife and I ordered the Winter Walkers during a weekend sale and now regret not getting them earlier in the season. We have trekked the nature preserve near our home for many hours since we unpacked them. They are well-built, easy to use and perfect for the wooded trails and snowy prairies.

Love the overall simple design. Very easy on/off and foot adjustments for tightening. Great investment for anyone looking to stay active in winter and enjoying the snow with ease!!

My husband is super active - biking, tennis, skiing, etc. He doesn't NEED anything so it's hard to think of good Christmas gifts for him. We live right across the street from a lovely park so when your catalog featured snowshoes. . . . . They got great reviews so I thought - Perfect!! My husband was thrilled. He had tried a friend's snowshoes while skiing in the UP of Michigan and liked the idea, but these snowshoes are so much better. Plus these are easy to put on and take off. The poles are adjustable and they can be put into the nice carrying bag for transport or storage at the end of the season. Woohoo!! Best gift ever!

Used on Christmas day and son enjoyed the activity. A basket on one of the poles was lost. Called and was told would send a replacement. People at LL B are always so helpful.

áby Mikeb12653 Awesome Snowshoes!
My 28 year old son used these this past Christmas in powdery snow in New Hampshire trails including The Flume. His first time using snowshoes was easy and quite durable.

Good starter snowshoes. The point of having equipment is that one will be compelled to use it. This is not a significant investment (especially on sale) and there is a lot of bang for the buck.
I do wish the bindings were a little easier to attach. Keep in mind that these will be put on outdoors, in the wind and cold, without gloves. The straps aren't difficult, but they could be simpler. The rear plastic heel cup tends to close, making it hard to just slip the snowshoes on before lashing. I would advise practicing putting them on while indoors before venturing out for the first time. Also, stow a lawn chair in your vehicle. It's a lot easier to put these on when seated.
People have complained about the initial adjustments to the heel plate. It's not that hard and there were instructions included.
The poles need to be snugged down so they don't collapse but that's not hard at all. Having them collapse makes it easier to store and transport them. Also, be sure the tips are screwed down tight. If you lose one of these on a trek, the poles are useless.
The right boots are key to a proper fit. My own opinion is that ankle high insulated/waterproof athletic type boots with a pair of gaiters are best. Big clunky snow boots are heavy and bulky. Bean makes a snow sneaker that would work well.
L.L.Bean offers snowshoeing classes in some locations. For $20.00, It's well worth it to get some practical usage tips.

My husband is 63 years old and is not hard on his gear. After wearing the snowshoes only 5 times, the plastic foot plate cracked in half at the instep section. We have exchanged them and will try them again and hope that this was a fluke. Poor design materials - would prefer an metal foot plate.

I sent my daughter and son-in-law snow shoes this Christmas season and they arrived in a few days. They were thrilled with the quality and hope to enjoy them for a long time.
