Rated 5 out of 5 by FlippyFlop great booties!
I bought these boots for my 100lb lab. They are well constructed and very durable. My dog seems very comfortable in these boots...he can run, jump and get around with no trouble. They stay on nicely with a snug Velcro closure. It would be a great addition if these booties were available in a waterproof version but overall not a bad product.

Purchased these booties a few weeks ago after our first snow fall. My 14 year old standard poodle was struggling with the ice on his paws. Would have went with the medium but after reading all the reviews indicating they ran large went with a small which is perfect. He is a very lean 52 lbs, tall and skinny. Would definitely follow the sizing instructions. Booty fits totally by your dogs paw width. They are very sturdy booties, excellent quality (like a good pair of sneakers). My dog hated them at first but he is much better about wearing them now. They need to get used to walking with these on, very weird for them. Easy to put on and take off. Need to pull the velcro strap tight in order to avoid them coming off during walks, which they have done. You must keep a constant eye out or you could leave a booty or two behind on the road. Nice reflective fabric for evening walks. Overall I am very happy wth them. He doesn't wear them often but they definitely keep his paws dry, clean and protected. Cute watching him walk and splash through puddles now. Pricey but probably worth it in comparison to similar products. Should have got him a pair years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanFaninMaine Great for Injured Paws
Our yellow lab hurt her paw on the icy roads in Maine and it would start bleeding again every time she went out. The one bootie that we used was easy to put on the sore foot and she is healing very well now thanks to the protection. I noticed once that the bootie turned upside down as mentioned in a review. It also came off twice (once for me and once for my wife). After we focused on getting the bootie tight and using all of the Velcro fastener, we did not have this problem. She has short fur and that may help to keep it on. Now she can play out in the snow with the one bootie on and has been protected. When we start walking again, we will try all four booties. She will also be able to go back to work and continue her Therapy Dog visits which is another benefit of the bootie and its help with the healing process. Our lab was disappointed for a brief period that they did not match our Bean boots. Maybe an idea for the future. Our vet recommended these specific boots and, once again, thank you L.L.Bean for making Maine winters easier.

Received these and noticed the fit is different as the front paws are very tight and hard to get the boot on where the back paws seem to fit fine. It would seem they need to offer different sized boots and not a set of 4 that supposedly fits all paws equally. After paying $69 rather disappointed truthfully. Trying to decide on returning them or using them. The manufacturer sells individual boots in each size, it would be nice if LL Bean offered this also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GripTrexDogBootie Very sturdy material
These booties wear really well. The only drawback is that
they turn upside down very easily and my dog is walking on the
fabric portion of the shoe. If the rubber could be extended further
on the top side - would be the perfect bootie for my lab.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pogoluv Too big and too hard.
Bought these for my 25 lb cockapoo. The XS was too wide for his average size foot and the hard rubber sole came up to the first joint. Would be difficult to walk in and kept falling off. Going back.

I had concerns when ordering and using the measurements chart. My German Shorthair Pointer is a lean 48lbs.,her feet measured for the x-small which I thought might be too small but ordered according to the chart. They fit well and stay on! Velcro straps worked great. Keep toenails trimmed and length isn't an issue...go by the chart on width only....Broke her in to wearing them by using on front feet only then added booties on back feet after several days of working with front booties on. Important to "keep them busy" when wearing....she did great and actually seemed to enjoy taking sharp turns to test out her traction (which was excellent). Bought them to protect feet as she was having some pad cracking in cold/dry weather. Seemed to improve weight bearing immediately. Had some technical issues ordering the booties, contacted customer service and got excellent service/resolution.

Our older dog had trouble in the ice and snow and would lift his paws for us to clear the packed snow during walks. He won't do his business without a walk, so even in very bad weather we must go. These boots did the trick. They are durable and easy to put on. One person said they spun around on their dog's feet. I found that they have to be strapped on very tight and when putting them on I have to squeeze his front paws so they don't catch. Because the reviews I read when buying said they run big, I bought two sizes and returned the ones that didn't fit. They do run a little large.

Rated 2 out of 5 by doggoneguy haven't had a great experience with these
I see that there are numerous positive reviews but for some reason these haven't worked out all that well for me. My dog can't wait to get them off and, just from a design standpoint, it seems like they should be easier to put on and it should be easier to get them to stay on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PowayBirdHunter Bad for running dogs
These booties are wonderfully constructed, and they fit my English Setter well. However, my feeling is that these boots are not meant for field work. Maggie took off running, and came back in just a moment with the boots turned upside down (soles on top)! I was really hoping that they would work, since she happens to be allergic to grasses (awful for a bird dog). In my opinion, this item should be removed from all hunting categories/catalogs.
