My oldest dog is in the early stages of degenerative myelopathy and is dragging his hind paws. He has to wear the booties to protect his claws from the scraping and this is the only set I have found that didn't wear out after just 2 walks. He is on his third week and they are as good today as they were when he first started wearing them. My only rec is it would be nice if there were two straps vs one just to keep them more secure on his paws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PAandMainer Great for snow!
We bought these "booties" for our 85lbs German Shepard about a month ago. We had some trouble with sizing at first, we originally purchased XL when we put them on our dog they flew off or rotated all around as he ran. We exchanged them (obviously without ANY trouble) for a size L and these fit great. Our dog does not mind them at all and they are great for muddy trail runs or playing in the snow.
FYI: you must get video of your dog when you first put them on, the way they walk is so silly. But, no worries they learn to walk "normally" very quickly, so don't miss your opportunity for a good laugh.

I have 3 issues with this product. #1 they are not well ventilated, paws are very moist when removed from the booties #2 when adjusted to a snug fit, they rub the dew claw area raw #3 when adjusted to a snug fit, they still allow gravel into the bootie

by ZenM Best Dog Booties on the Market
Heavy-duty canvas tops and Vibram soles like hiking boots make these super durable and functional for keeping my old dog from slipping on my tile floors. Other booties on the market are made of fabric that gets torn up within weeks and have bottoms that aren't grippy enough. I've tried them and they aren't effective for giving a weak dog enough traction to stand up.These Grip Trex's are a bit pricey, but well worth it because you'll save money in the long run. Don't waste money on cheaper ones; you'll end up going through several pairs of the cheaper ones as they wear out and ultimately spend more than just getting these from the get go. These are the best you'll find.

Our dog Zip is 13 1/2 years old and starting to have trouble on our hardwood floors as his hind end sometimes splays out from under him. After he got hurt sliding down our hardwood stairs I decided that we had to do something other than put carpet runners all over the house. I researched available non-skid booties and such online and decided to give these LL Bean Dog Booties a try based on reviews - especially those using them for similar issues.
I was afraid that Zip wouldn't wear them or that he'd pull them off or that they'd wear sore spots on his legs. (He's short-haired.) He loves them. No problems! I do take them off for periods of time during the day usually and always overnight but put them on 1st thing in the morning before he stands up. It's amazing how easy it is for him to get up now. It took him awhile to get used to them and he still sometimes walks with his hind legs off to the sides if I don't put them on snuggly enough. All in all, they've been a life saver for us. Zip now goes up stairs confidently (the hardwood stairs were getting to be scarey and dangerous for him.) I'd recommend these for any geriatric dog that could use help stabilizing their hind end. We only use them on his hind paws.
BTW - Zip's not a chewer so we didn't have that type of issue to contend with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CBRL Helpful for my German Shepherd
My German Shepherd has recently been having issues with his hind legs (neurological issues as well as arthritis) and I purchased these booties based on customer reviews to give him some extra traction on the hardwoods and prevent foot lacerations as he is dragging them a bit. He has responded very well to wearing them and they are helpful. I followed the measurement methodology and they fit well. The only issue I have with them is that they tend to spin around (traction portion ends up on the top of his foot) at times if he has been lying down for awhile. High quality sole and I love the fact that the top is completely vented to dry easily. Would recommend this product.

Bought these cause my dog was scratching our new hardwood floors. They are fantastic. They fit great and he can still run and play without hurting the floor.

I bought these shoes for my German shepherd who is having difficulty with walking. He has degenerative myelopathy and as a result, he drags his back 2 paws on the ground. It was filing his nails down to the quick and it caused them to bleed. I ordered this product on a Tuesday night from L.L. Bean and was happy to see them arrive on a Friday so I could begin using them! I think this product is worth it because it does stay on his feet fairly well, but because of his disease and how he drags his feet the only time they come off is when the rubber soles catch on one another. Another dog without DM wouldn't do this. He adjusted very quickly to walking in them and I think he is appreciative because he knows that I put them on him to keep his back toenails from hurting when he is playing. Now I feel like we can take him on a walk again and not worry about his nails bleeding. I measured the seat like L.L. Bean suggested and the sizing was pretty spot on. Because I only put them on his back feet, I technically have two sets of shoes for him and this works out well for us. This size shoe that fits his back paws, however, would definitely not fit his front paws as his front paws are much larger.

I got these to replace old LL Bean doggie boots and these are better than the old ones! The old ones just had thick canvas bottoms, but I love the rubber soles on these. I had to replace the old ones because after years of wear, the bottoms got holes in them. Considering how long the last set survived, I'm guessing I won't ever have to replace these, since my collie only really has to wear them in winter to protect him from salt & stop ice balls from forming between his toes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kitti Too big but quality
These are very well made and would be perfect except that they run very large. I bought the smallest size Bean offered and they still were so large that my dog would walk out of them. I did measure his feet and after reading that some reviewers had said they ran large I bought down from what he measured. They were still much too large. I had to return them.
