This is a shoe with major sizing issues and an uncomfortable rubber sole that makes walking in them a highly unpleasant experience. After ordering and re-ordering them in three different sizes, then having to return them, I finally gave up! Stay away from this shoe unless you have a strong desire to do all that paperwork processing repeated returns and providing more business to UPS to send them back. Pick something else, just not these these shoes! Not your finest offering, by a long shot, L.L. Bean.

I like these shoes. The problem is they don't fit, even after allowing a week to stretch out.! I ordered the 9M(D). I wear a US 9D or a EUR 43, These are neither! They are something close to a 9C. I think the manufacturer is trying to fit the majority of men without offering additional sizes. I'm going to try a 9 1/2M and see what happens.

Looks like a nice shoe if I can ever get a pair that fits. As others have noted the sizing runs small - very small. I have always taken a 9 1/2D with no problem. Could not even come close to getting into these. Sent that back for a 10D - Still way too small. Just sent that back and going to try a 10EE - will keep you posted

The shoes fit, right out of the box. They are quite comfortable. This is the second time I have ourchased this shoe and the first pair wore like iron. Good product, at a decent price.

Perfect in every way for the price though the rubber no slip sole is a bit thicker than I'd prefer even at age 77. The leather is plenty soft, the shoes are dress casual and very comfortable. For more everyday wear (lighter mixed brown/beige colors), I would prefer the penny loafer version of this same shoe available at BEAN to wear everyday and I intend to buy them. I love my Allen Edmonds shoes of yesteryear but don't handle all leather soles well any more. Right shoes, right fit, right price.

I have worn LL Bean loafers for years and found them to be very comfortable, however this was the first time I purchased a pair with rubber soles.
THe sizing bore no relationship to the actual fit-the shoes were unbearably narrow and tight in the toe box, and the rubber soles were almost unbendable-like wooden clogs.
Stick to the leather sole models!!!
