Rated 5 out of 5 by DES130 THE BEST
I would rate these shirts as the best oxford cloth shirts that I've owned and I've been wearing oxford cloth shirts a long time. In short, I like the slightly heavier fabric, they easily iron, and they feel as if they have been starched. The only changes I would make are to add some additional colors. In particular, I would like a University Stripe dark khaki or tan, a University Stripe gray, and a solid gray. Bringing back the University Stripe burgundy would also be nice.

Rated 2 out of 5 Disappointed
After washing the shirt one time buttons fell off. Not what I expected for this price. Probably would not risk buying another one.

Was looking more for the traditional L.L. Bean canvas material as advertised

Rated 3 out of 5 by PB57 permanent heavy starch
The reason these are wrinkle-free is that the manufacturer appears to have perfected permanent starch. I, too, think the 'French blue' has changed. I like the older, softer version. Since the old style lasted so long, I would prefer the old quality to the new one, even at a somewhat higher cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by whiteshirtexpert Perfect Shirt with One Exception, but LLBEAN fixes
Have tried many, many white shirts from many stores for my husband. Paid a lot for some of them, but nothing has fit the bill like this shirt. This is his standard dress up/professional shirt. It's thick, which he likes, and stays looking nice all day. The drawback to this shirt is that when I wash them, the tips of the collars often turn brown. LLBean honors their promise and exchanges them for new shirts. I'm finding this is less of a problem if I watch the dryer very closely and take them out just before they get perfectly dry. Also if I wash them in loads with 5-8 shirts. There must be something in the collar stays that can't take high, dry heat. I might also try re-wetting the collar area before I toss in the dryer. Other than this defect, which I hope LLBean can correct, the shirts are perfect and the end of a decade long quest to find the perfect dress shirt! The other colors and patterns are great, too, and provide a great, dressier alternative for more casual days to a knit shirt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Simmy Not Original French Blue color, fabric awful thin
I have been buying these shirts in French Blue over 15 years, lately the color is off, looks like Corn Flower Blue, and the fabric is thin and easy to rip, this one only ordered in Dec., 2014, it start to rip at the collar and cuff area, i will send it back if it fall apart further.
The old Oxford Shirt is thick and crisp in appearance, when I received this one, it lacks the substantial weight of Oxford Cloth. I should have send it back then, and trust my instincts .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hausmann Out of Stock
I've been pleased with all the merchandise purchased from L.L. Bean, especially the wrinkle resistant classic oxford shirts. I have noticed however, the Classic Oxford Burgundy University Stripe Long Sleeve is often out of stock. I would guess I've been purchasing my shirts from L.L. Bean for a least 20 years and this item is the only one I can recall as being out of stock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DGUSA One of LL Bean's Best Products
I love LL Bean but I'm a tough reviewer. I am not fond of some of the other wrinkle-free shirts, which are not durable for me, but these oxford cloth shirts are wonderful. Great for wearing under a sweater or to the office. I've never ironed one, ever.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 10149 Wonderful and terrible
I bought 4 of these. My former "uniform" shirt was discontinued and I was looking for a replacement. Being built like an orangutan, I cannot buy at a department store and have to order on-line.
The good. These are wrinkle "proof". pull them out of the dryer, hang them and they look like they have been pressed, and very crisply. They have a nice heavy feel, too. And, so far, they are durable.
The bad. They are dirt magnets. A drop of olive oil will leave a permanent stain. No amount of pre-treatment or re-washing will get it out. Ring around the collar, too.
I will be returning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hersheymom90 ...but it's not true French blue!!!
I have ordered many of these shirts for my husband over the years and they are wonderful in every way, but the French blue of this classic oxford cloth shirt is NOT the French blue of the pinpoint oxford cloth shirts. My husband prefers classic over pinpoint but this shade of French blue simply will not do for him.
