I do love this robe because it is so warm and comfortable. I have had it over a month now and it has been holding up well so far.

I bought the robe because my dad is always cold.. The fleece lining of this robe keeps my dad warmer than any other robe he has had. My mom decided he should have the flannel pajamas to match. Between the both my dad can sit at night in front of the tv comfortably. Thinking about buying another in a different color.

This is a great robe. We've dropped the thermostat this winter, so this robe is terrific for early morning and evenings at home. I really like the fleece lining. It's well made and a great fit. Thankful for the tall size. Would recommend to anyone needing a warm robe this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BillinWA Another Great LLB Product
A fantastic robe that takes the chill out of damp northwest nights. The XXL fit is good for me. I am 6'1" 235lbs with long arms (36" sleeve length) and normally wear XXL. This robe fits me perfectly, but would probably be too large for someone with "normal" sleeve length who regularly wears XXL. The quality is good and I like the long length. More than enough room around the waist, which probably could accommodate a waist considerably larger than my 40" waist. Looks good and my wife described it as looking like a longer version of a classy smoking jacket. If you like a more tailored fit, you might consider one size down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheMerryHermit Extraordinary
As it happens, the Merry Hermit is a highly visual person, difficult to please with just about anything, particularly apparel. The tartan used in this robe - Mcrae of Conchra - was not familiar to me, but was immediately arresting. I have to say, the clan that created this plaid had spirit and class. It could have been designed today.
The robe is everything one could ask for, if he is shopping for great,full-body warmth. I was. Being single and living my life largely alone, keeping the thermostat as low as possible, I have found that a garment like this is ideal for general home-wear in severe winter weather. It's non-binding and allows great freedom of movement.
The plaid is large scale and extremely handsome. I am one who rather appreciates the surprise element in dress. But it must be confessed, the stunning quality of this robe rocked me back on my heels. It brings you into another dimension. My first impression was that a garment like this could only be worn by Hugh Hefner or a Mafia Don.
But having found nothing else online to my taste, I hung the robe in a conspicuous place for a week - to allow time to make friends with the attitude, with this measure of bravado. The tactic has worked, because I have caught the contagion of "merriment." You know, Auntie Mame said, "Life is a banquet but most poor fools are starving to death."
So I have overcome this problem and become a brighter, bolder contender. This winter my vulnerable person will be clad in the dashing spirit of great Scotch studs. If it suited their manliness, it dang well suits MINE!
The lines of the robe are superb; it is beautifully constructed, and leaves one feeling as snug as a bug in the proverbial rug.
But as for the choice of tartans, don't tread here if you follow a law of strict conservatism. This is not for the low-profile crowd. There are other pattern-options with this item.
My size is that of a standard Medium. The fit is excellent, plenty of wrap-around, sleeve-length ample, robe length falling a bit below the calf. If you suspect this scrivener of smugness, my long review should earn me a bit of indulgence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DoubleLBeans Comfortable and Warm Robe
My husband loves this robe, soft and very comfortable. The only
Suggestion for improvement would be to sew or tack on the tie
Belt, maybe a few stitches on the back.
I have washed it, no shrinkage, even when put in the dryer.
Thanks for a great and practical robe. LL Bean still has great
Quality and value for the money spent.

I tried to buy my husband this last season, but it was sold out. So this year I ordered it first sign of chill in the air. It is true to size and very comfortable and snuggley warm. So glad he finally has it to wear this winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Danshelper Great robe - WIMPY tie!
We've had several Bean fleece robes and they've all been fantastic. We decided to try this fleece lined flannel (better colors than the regular plaid men's fleece) for my husband. The robe is wonderful - warm, soft, rugged - but the tie stinks! It's totally inadequate for the bulk of the robe and forms into a rope more than a tie. This makes the robe look kind of sloppy and is uncomfortable around the waist. A solid robe needs a solid tie. Too bad this doesn't have it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ArchitectureProf Exceeds expectations
I am not a robe guy, but I moved from Scottsdale to a wonderful but drafty house in southeastern Pennsylvania and I needed something for the cool mornings. This robe, especially with the fleece in the sleeves, is great. I debated as to whether I should get the L.L. Bean robe with the hood (but no fleece in the sleeves) or the Scotch plaid flannel robe, lined. For me it was important to have the extra warmth on my arms, and I am very happy that I went with the lined, flannel robe. Further, I am about 5' - 9 1/2" and this robe falls below my knees - a darn good length. Lastly, this is a heavy robe, and this is perfectly fine with me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chudy Best robe he's ever HAD!!!!!
Purchased this for hubby and when he put it on, his eyes rolled back in his head. He wore it one day before he said "this is the best robe I've EVER had". He went on to say "NO, this is the BEST article of clothing I've ever had!"
We ordered another in a different color that night so that we could stick one in the wash but he'd still be able to have one to wear.
Typical LLBean service and products. Flawless! Thank you, LLBean!
