Rated 3 out of 5 by WoodchuckEngineer Gloves are tight, yet bulky
I typically wear a medium to large glove; given the other reviews, I erred on the side of caution and ordered the large. When I tried them on, I could feel the circulation being restricted to my otherwise smaller than average fingers. Any yet, the gloves felt like there was a lot of extra material surrounding them making them less function than the typical insulated mechanic style gloves I was hoping for. Maybe they will break in over time and become more functional, but right now I would strongly recommend trying them before buying to check fit, or go with an insulated mechanics glove. Other than the fit, and bulkiness, I like the gloves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ConstructionJunkie Need bigger sizes!
For starters, I have bulky hands with large palms and thick, normal length fingers. My reach from pinky to thumb is a little over 9", and my palm circumference is 10". I don't consider my hands to be huge, but my main complaint with any gloves is I can never find a pair large enough to be comfortable.
I bought the size XL (dark brown) in our local Tyson's Corner store, as that was the largest they had in stock. I thought they would be fine, but after a day of work I could tell they were to restrictive for my hands, and the fingers felt too tapered almost like I expect a ladies' glove would be. They were warm and otherwise seemed to be well made.
I exchanged these for a size 2XL online in the tan color which was again the largest glove available. The fingers are no longer tapered but are still slightly restrictive. The palms fit well but the glove cuts into the web of my index finger and thumb when the thumb is extended.
The fingers are the right length in both the XL and the 2XL. For this reason, I expect that a size 3XL, if it were made, would be a perfect fit for me and anyone else with similar hand size/shape. I know there are plenty of people with hands my size or larger, so I don't understand why Bean and other companies won't make gloves to accommodate us. I will keep these, as they are now my most comfortable work gloves, but I'm holding back from a 5-star rating because the glove won't fit (we must acquit!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarletonBob Very nice gloves
They are nice warm gloves, well made. One word of caution, they are smaller than expected. I ordered the XXL and they are snug.

I really liked these gloves, only the Large (which is my glove size 99% of the time) was too small and the XL was too large. Unfortunate, but I couldn't make either size work for me.

These gloves are tough, comfortable and worth every penny. considering buying another pair as backup.
Remember to order next size up as they run small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by larry359 short fingers
The glove appears well-made but have not used it. I have short fingers and thumb. I measure 8 3/4 around knuckles, about equally on both hands. I ordered a Large. The L is very snug and fingers and thumb both go to end of glove for a very snug fit, but material seems to stretch some. This is exactly what I wanted-dexterity to pickup up dog doodoo in snow with plastic bag. Any longer fingers would not do for me. Also want to shovel snow. The split in palm is a little weird, but gives extra protection in grip. It might bunch a little with a smaller tool, like a wrench. These are not driving gloves-they are meant to be work gloves and designed with extra protection for that purpose. Style is a little strange also but I suspect it was done with the function of work flexibility in mind not some other use. It is what it is.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jfhug Size runs small
I have been using the regular Iron works gloves for a while and love them. However the insulated version seems to run small. A large is perfect in the regular gloves but too small in the insulated version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Plowguy Fingers too long.
These gloves are well made but for me the fingers were about 3/4 " too long. My thumb fit perfect but not the fingers. They went back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FlatbedCowboy Warm
These gloves are GREAT! Usually when I'm securing my flatbed trailer load during winter I change gloves every 10 - 15 minutes because my hands are so cold. Recently, it was 16 degrees, winds of 25 mph in North Dakota while I was securing the load. I wore the L.L. Bean insulated gloves the WHOLE time and was warm. I am so pleased with them. Thank you.
