Rated 4 out of 5 by ZoeLucy NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!
As most have stated, this is a high quality product as you would expect. Now you might say, why instructions to put a dog bed together ? Well after you have thought that LL Bean has sent a wrong sized bolster and you have finally found the internal zippers and ripped your hands to shreds on the internal zippers trying to get the bolsters in correctly you too will ask where are the instructions to make this easy ?
There were NO INSTRUCTIONS with the parts !!!!!!!
And as stated, the cover comes off easily for washing. But then you have to put it back together. Better send it to the Chairman of LL Bean and ask him to assemble it for you.
Oh, and if it was just put together in the first place and folded once it could have been shipped in a box half the size of the one in which it arrived.
In spite of the about "concerns" it is still a fine product, not made in America.

This bed will last for Willow's lifetime! She has gone through 2 store bought beds already in the few short years we have had her, but these materials and construction will last. I did use the recomended sizing guide for ordering, but found it was a bit too big for her, so I exchanged for 1 size down. If your dog likes to curl up and be cozy, you may want to double check the actual measurements carefully.

Toby loves his new bed!! Went right over and climbed in when we first got it. He sleeps in it alot. The size medium is perfect for our welsh terrier! This bed is made very well, definately worth the price, we have gone through a number of others over the past 4 years, hopefully; this one will last many years. The cover zips off, which will be nice to keep nice and clean. Thanks again, LLBean for a great product!!

Our old lab loved it. Four stars only because he struggled to get up onto it because of arthritis. But once he's up, he looks so comfy and happy! Totally worth it.

This bed is extremely well made. I wish I had bought this 6 beds ago. I would have saved myself a lot of money. I bought two. One for each level of my house. I own both the therapeutic and regular premier dog bolster beds. My dog seems to prefer the therapeutic one. It is much firmer but he will sleep on both.
I also bought the LL Bean pet blankets to put on them. Instead of washing the beds often I wash the blankets weekly. They are also very well made! Yes, the beds are a bit pricey but not if they last the life of your pet....which I believe they will.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChicagoJoan Great Cover, So-so Insert, Sizing is HUGE!
I have now purchased three of these beds for our Golden/Poodle mix and I have three items to address: the cover, the cushion and the sizing. 1. The cover on this bed is fabulous. The fleece is soft, the denim/canvas is rugged but not scratchy, the bolsters are very comfortable for my dog to rest his head on and keep an eye on what's going on in the room. Also, THE INSERT IS VERY EASY TO PUT IN! The reviewers who state otherwise have not followed the directions! I have now put three of these beds together and though I had my son's help with the extra large bed, none took more than 15 minutes to assemble. There was NO ISSUE with the zippers not working properly. READ THE DIRECTIONS FOR INSERTION and I promise you'll be fine! 2. The bed cushion is NOT as thick and durable as I expected for the expense of this bed. Thus, my 4-star rating. After 11 months, I feel the floor right through the cushion when I push down on it. I have another bed with the therapeutic memory foam cushion and it is fantastic. I just ordered that insert for this bed too. With the already high cost of this bed, I recommend going ahead and ordering the memory foam cushion to make it truly worth the investment. Your dog will be more comfortable and though you're spending even more money, you will not be disappointed in the mattress. 3. The sizing can be tough to figure out! Our Goldendoodle is 65 pounds and long-legged, standing 35" at the crown of his head. I mention this so you will picture the appropriate size bed for your dog. First, I bought the EXTRA LARGE, thinking he would need it to spread out. This bed is HUGE! No kidding, my 13 and 10 year old daughters stretched out full-length in this bed together. YIKES! It is also VERY VERY roomy for our dog. I finally took it up to our cottage to get it out from under-foot here at home. I seriously think only Great Danes, Mastiffs or St. Bernards need this size bed. I also bought the LARGE bed. This is also quite roomy for our 65 pounder and allows him to stretch out comfortably with plenty of room for his long legs. He sleeps in this every night, but even the large was too much in the way for our kitchen where we spend so much of our day. SO, finally I bought him the medium bed - recommended on the site for dogs up to 40 pounds only - and he uses that for naps during the day. This bed has the memory foam cushion and is amazing in every way. He doesn't have room to stretch out lengthwise, front legs over his head and back legs reaching in the opposite direction, but he can lie in it on his side with his legs stretched out, straight down from his body. It's a perfect, cozy fit and doesn't take up all the floor space in my kitchen!

Received this bed yesterday! Couldn't wait to put it together...very easy to do! Like changing a pillowcase really! I ordered the medium in Loden! Two seconds after being placed on the floor, our 24 lb Bichon hopped right in! She rolled, she licked, she stretched and it was hers! She slept all night in it, and as you can see is back in it this morning! Happy pup! Happy owners! Wish I had ordered this a long time ago! Thanks LL Bean for loving our pups as much as we do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by llbeanisawesome HIGH QUALITY AND ATTRACTIVE
We purchased this in a Medium size for our 30 lb cocker spaniel. First, it is very high quality and attractive! Second and more important, he loves it! Third, and even more important, it is so well made, he has not been able to tear it, which is what he did to another, cheaper dog bed. Fourth, the Medium size gives him Plenty of room to stretch and to arrange lots of his favorite toys around him as he loves to do. We are Extremely happy with this product and highly recommend it! Bailey seconds this recommendation!

Rated 1 out of 5 by luluthecrocodile mashes flat to the floor
I wanted to buy another one of Bean's Therapeutic Dog Couches, which are absolutely wonderful, but they were sold out and so I bought this Premium Couch instead.
The Large size is fine for my 40 and 50 pound Standard Poodles and the sides are great, but the mattress/bed part is pretty worthless. As soon as my dogs sat on this couch, it mashed down flat to the floor, giving them no support at all. I guess it gets them off of the cold floor, but that's about all it does.
The Therapeutic Dog Couch on the other hand is very thick and very firm. It does cost a little bit more, but my dogs love it, which is why I wanted to buy another one. Also, they are getting older, almost 9 and 10 years old, and very much need the support of the firm mattress that the Therapeutic Couch offers rather than the thin, pretty useless, mattress on this Premium Couch.
I had saved up our coupons and used them to buy this couch and now I'm going to have to wait 2-3 months to get them re-issued, not the end of the world, but a disappointment. Meanwhile, I found out that I could have bought the Therapeutic Dog Couch to begin with if I had known that the the three parts of the couch (mattress, bolsters, and cover) can be purchased separately as replacement parts. Buying them separately cost about $16 dollars more than the original couch, but Bean does have these parts in stock and the nice lady in customer service said they would give me a price reduction of the $16 if I bought the couch piece-meal so that I would be paying the original price for the entire couch. I Highly recommend the denim cover over the fleece cover. The denim is much sturdier.
As always, llBean's customer service is excellent, however, this Premium Dog Couch was pretty worthless, in my opinion and, judging by my dogs' rejection of this bed, they totally agree that it is uncomfortable.
Better to spend a little more and get a superior product.
