My daughter has used this lunch box from 1st grade through the middle of 7th grade. I recently bought a replacement only because it was just now starting to wear down at the corners. The construction and stitching are of great quality. I like that the new design incorporates a "seamless" interior. Less nooks and crannies for crumbs!
FYI, this size fits well with "Easy Lunchboxes" containers!

I have bought LL BEAN lunch boxes in the past and loved them. The price has gone up, but I decided to order anyway since I liked the old ones so much. These are really on the small side. I am still going to use them since they match the kids' backpacks, but I am disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 4U2Know Not As Pictured! Cheaply Made.
I bought my daughter one of these lunch boxes (the older version) several years ago. It was awesome...with lots of room and sides that actually held themselves up. Unfortunately she lost it. This newer version does not hold a candle to the prior. The picture shown is a picture of the older lunch box. This newer one has sides that don't stand up and are not as deep/high. The inside cannot even hold a snack-sized baggie horizontally unless you bend the baggie to fit. It is cheaply made; certainly not what LLB has made its reputation on in the years past. Don't waste your $.

by BuckeyeBrood Ideal for little eaters & young students!
I purchased this lunch box in the shark print for my 5 year-old kindergartner since he loved the LL Bean lunch box that his 8 year-old brother had (same style).
Aside from looking "cool", my son likes that this lunch box is perfectly sized to fit his small bento container (pictured is a 5.5 x 6.5 x 2.5 dual food storage container from that pottery shack, but we also use small split "sistem" containers when he packs a smaller sandwich and carrot sticks), small glass water bottle, freezer pack, and even a small snack or container of pretzels as well. He puts his hand wipes in the inside mesh pocket (which has a hook-and-loop closure), and he also has the outer zipper pocket for milk money or notes from Mom.
I appreciate that this lunch box isn't so large that the lunch containers rattle around inside, has an easy-clean lining, and I have had no problems machine washing any of our lunch boxes from LL Bean.
LL Bean's customer service was wonderful in finding a store that still had my son's favorite print in stock, and it shipped in plenty of time to give this as a Christmas gift. The lunch box is well made as expected, and I highly recommend this for elementary aged children.
As you can see in the photo, my son's lunch box is personalized with his name, but this is something I did with my embroidery machine, not LL Bean's customization service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeedeeMD Great but small
Like the title the lunchbox is great but a little small. It is good for sandwiches but not leftover containers. Other than that it is a very good product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JourneyPlanner Excellent quality - Great size for elementary
We love this lunch box, it fits a small thermos and fruit, juice box and crackers but I do find it too small for our older child (gr7). I wish they made another size 1X1/2 size bigger.
Keeps food cold, no odors,

Overall this lunch box is really nice, it keeps everything cold even the cold pack is still somewhat frozen. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that it's small.
