This is really an indoor/outdoor thermometer that shows either the time or the date, not both at the same time. I really enjoy seeing the outdoor temp when I first come down in the morning. The digits are large so I know immediately what it feels like outside. I do wish that the indoor temp was displayed a bit larger. When we travel, we will take this along as it is compact.

Easy to set up, use, read, and see. Replaces a similar device that was over 10 years old and only died when the outdoor sensor got crushed (don't ask). Now is powering 2 other stations in the house!

Got this wireless battery operated thermometer for my friend's birthday. It works great! When setting it up you need to follow directions though, and set up the outside sensor first. Then get the inside thermometer ready to go. Right now the two units are about 30 feet apart, the directions say they will reach up to 98 feet apart. Works great, small size , but very readable. And it was on sale, so that makes it even better!

While the outdoor temperature is accurate, the indoor temperature reads two or more Fahrenheit degrees too low. Since I'm mainly interested in the outdoor number, I've kept it. Actually, an old LL Bean indoor-outdoor thermometer whose display goes on the fritz sometimes, still gives the right indoor reading. Also, the much larger digits on the older unit are highly preferable to the smaller numbers (especially for the indoor reading) on the new model. All in all, somewhat disappointed with new purchase, especially given the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ksan This is my second one!
Since I bought our first one, this unit has even been improved over what I thought was an almost perfect unit to begin with. It now is more stable on a window sill or shelf, and the addition of the solar charger is at least cool....and may even extend battery life (which has never been a problem on the old one.). BTW, the old one is still in daily duty telling me all about the temps in its location. The new one is a pleasure to own and I bought it because I wanted to be able to monitor temps in a shaded area of our home.
When so many things are never as good as the one before, this is the exception...better than ever.

This is the second one that stopped working. This one after only a few weeks. The directions are not easy to follow and in order to reset you need a pin. Will seek a refund.

New and improved. We owned our last one for about 10 years. The new one has bigger numbers and is also solar. How can you beat that? We expect it will perform just as well and long as the last one. And if it doesn't , LL Bean will make good on it, just as they always do. I love this store.

Liked my purchase very much. I am always pleased with L. L. Bean and their products. They always stand behind each and every purchase. The weather station works very well.

Tried this new model after my older Bean model gave up the ghost but got several good years of reliable readings from the old one. I tried this model 1st time and it worked a month--returned it and the 2nd one never worked. I asked Bean to consider removing it from their line. I walk each day before sunrise so knowing the temp is critical to me both in the hot summer months but especially in the cold winter months. This is the first Bean product I've ever asked for a refund in the over 30 years of being a satisfied customer. Buyer beware!
