Rated 5 out of 5 by TPS222 Great shirt!
I recently received the three lined Big Corduroy Shirts that I purchased, and I am thrilled. They are beautiful, and they fit! I ordered 3 shirts: Black, Garnet, and the Cobalt Sea. The red shade really "pops." It is a brighter in person and definitely brighter than on my monitor or on the model--- hers looks to be a deeper shade of red because she doesn't appear to be in bright light. Personally, I LOVE this shade of red. In person, the blue shirt looks just like the color on my monitor. Both are beautiful colors IMHO.
99.9% of the time, I wear a Medium in shirts, and the Medium is what I ordered from LL Bean for these shirts. For reference, I am 5'5", weigh 130 lbs, have a 40" bust, 36" hips, but we won't talk about my waist after birthing 4 babies. ;) I have plenty of room to layer under these big corduroy shirts with a medium weight sweater, and I still have some room left over which is great! The shirt's sleeve length is gracious plenty and somewhat on the longish side, but I would rather have it be a tad longish than have it be too short. The sleeve length falls to almost the middle of my hand. The shirt itself falls about 1" above my bum, so for me it is a shirt length and not a tunic length.
I haven't washed any of the shirts yet, so I can't speak to any problems with shrinkage. I will be VERY careful not to shrink these shirts because I love them just the way they fit right now. LL Bean also includes an extra button which is sewn on the lower inside of the shirt. I am very impressed with the workmanship of these shirts. They were definitely worth their price.
BTW, I also ordered 2 of the UNlined Big Corduroy Shirts. I will post my review under that shirt, as well. Just in case something goes amiss with that review, I will post something here and now. These shirts fit exactly the same way all over as the lined Big Corderoy Shirts EXCEPT for the sleeve length. The unlined shirts were just a tad shorter. On me, they fell slightly below my wrists which is really the perfect fit.
The 2 unlined shirts that I ordered were: Deep Aqua Teal and Twilight. Both are beautiful shades! The Deep Aqua Teal is actually the lighter and brighter shade of the 2 shirts--with lots more green than blue to make up its teal shade. When I think of the word "deep" to describe a color, I think of a darker color, definitely NOT a brighter color. I wonder if someone got the colors mixed up when they were doing the catalog and website with photos and accompanying descriptions. Oh well, whatever. They are both beautiful shirts, and I love both colors.
To describe the Deep Aqua Teal in one word--"WOW!" It is a "looker" and simply stunning. It is my favorite color of all the shirts that I ordered. And as I said earlier, it has more green than blue to make up it teal color. Beautiful color IMHO.
The Twilight color is not the dark, dark color that appears on my computer monitor. In person, it is a lighter, softer and more muted shade of teal. And it truly is a teal shade. Beautiful! If you have a catalog, it is the exact color that the blonde model is wearing. In fact, I ordered this color shirt because of her, not the color on my monitor. LL Bean also includes an extra button with the unlined Big Shirts. Thank you for those, LL Bean. :)
Well, I hope that I helped someone with my review. I try to put everything in a review that I want to read about when deciding on a purchase and what size to order. If these shirts are any indicator of the kind of quality found at LL Bean, I'll be ordering LOTS more merchandise from LL Bean in the future. :)

What a great shirt! The red is so vibrant, and I love the roomy fit. I ordered the same size I wear in the unlined corduroy and was afraid it would be too tight when layered, but it's a perfect fit! It's soft as a cloud. Definitely recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by LLBeanCustomerinAZ Well made, but not for me
This shirt is good quality and the color (blue) is bright and beautiful. I tried on the non-lined version of this shirt in the store, so I already knew that it ran big (perhaps for layering). I am 5'5", 165 lbs and wore the Medium Petite. Not what I would have expected. The sleeves fit perfectly in that size. The style is very large and boxy and my main reason for returning it will be because it does not keep me warm. I wanted to use it in place of a sweater or fleece. I put it on for a couple of hours in 50-degree outdoor weather and it didn't keep me warm because of the style being so large, the cold air snuck up through the open spaces in the body and sleeves of the shirt. I am not someone who layers (living in the desert), so this style doesn't work for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JennyBr Very BIG shirt!
I loved the feel of this shirt, and the quality seemed wonderful. I ordered the dark green in a large, which is my normal LL Bean size. I understand it is supposed to be big and relaxed, but this shirt was beyond huge. The sleeves hung way over my hands, and I could have easily fit 3 or more sweaters under it. And I am not a petite person. I couldn't exchange for the medium, because this color is sold out. It felt great and I wish I could have kept it, but I knew I'd never actually wear it outside the house. Maybe I'll ask for a smaller size for Christmas. It was a beautiful and well made shirt, just not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LMSWCASAC Lined Coduroy Big Shirt nice addition
I have a Lined Comfort Corduroy Big Shirt in black with a nice muted flannel check lining. I did not realize until now that it was advertised as waterproof. I just completed a positive review on the Comfort CBS and recommended wearing under a raincoat (In my case Waterproof Trail Model Raincoats) Hope I didn't steer anyone wrong. The lined shirt is just as comfy as the unlined but naturally would keep you warmer. I didn't have to order a different size from the unlined shirt. It must be sized to accomodate the lining, Never had a problem fitting shirts and sweaters under or fleece vests over. Add at least one lined Comfort Corduroy Big Shirt to your wardrobe. I've had mine for years, washes well, and looks like new. Color choices have come and gone but comfort is always in style. I'm a 14 and wear a Large.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ilikefunction wish for men's cut or tall - sleeves r short
I ordered a large so that I could layer - I want it mainly for dog-walking, etc.... being outside. The body was plenty big (I'm @ sz 10). It is soft and seems that it would be warm, but the sleeves are a bit short. Not clownish, but for a cold-weather shirt, I like sleeves that fit appropriately and that don't slide halfway to my elbow when I move my arms. It would be awkward if trying to layer. Plus, the boxiness of the shirt doesn't "go" with sleeves that aren't long in proportion. If it came in tall or men's, I would order that but I didn't find that. And I'm only @ 5'9" - not crazy tall but a little curvy AND a little tall is a hard fit to find. The fabric, etc, is all great stuff - my only issue is the cut/proportion. Maybe this shirt is for the folks who buy fur coats with bracelet sleeves (which also doesn't make sense to me).

This is a beautiful shirt and no, it did not shrink nor did the lining do anything odd after laundering. I'd strongly recommend this very warm Corduroy Big Shirt to anyone
The dark green is a beautiful color and it didn't cost much at all.
Thank you L.L. Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sparrow2 new favorite shirt
I have three of the unlined version of this shirt which I love. But I have to say the lined version of this shirt is my new favorite. Not to mention it comes in black! The shirt is warm but not bulky.
Could wear as a jacket with layering underneath it. So impressed with this shirt I called back and ordered the cobalt blue color also. Fits true to size. I wear petite medium in both lined and unlined versions of this shirt. So grateful to L.L.Bean for petite sizing in so many of their clothes. So hard to find elsewhere. Thanks L.L.Bean.

So pretty- almost shimmers when the light catches the knap of the corduroy in a certain direction. This year's crop of shirts seems to have longer sleeves- happy about that with my long arms. This is a cold weather staple you won't want to take off!
