Rated 5 out of 5 by NJShoreGal Excellent Value
Bought this for emergencies, as well as a convenient radio to take down the shore. Light weight, but very functional and works well. Quite happy with this purchase.

I was really looking forward to getting this radio as I have an old llbean (eton) radio that has dial tuning. So I liked the digital readout but found other parts of radio hard to operate and too complicated.
It was hard to use the menu to set time and use the alert system.
So I'm back to using my " oldie, but goodie" again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fireworks Great radio for emergencies
This is my second solarlinkFR370 radio from L. L. Bean within the last month. The first one worked fine with battery power and dynamo power but would not operate using the solar power. I did everything according to the directions but no power. The radio was left out in the direct sun for a total of seventeen hours and the dial set on solar but nothing worked. I exchanged the radio a week ago and, again, placed the radio out in the direct sun for two days and the same results with the second one, no solar power. I spoke with a salesman at the store and he said to be sure the rechargeable battery pack is plugged in the back. I went home and checked and it was plugged in properly. I don't know if anyone has had this problem or if I'm doing something wrong so I'm going to give it another try as soon as the sun stays out long enough. If nothing happens, I'll return it for another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Teedy101 Solar Energy Radio a great buy
I purchased this radio because it has so many capabilities and for
the purpose of keeping up with weather, outages, whether at home,
camping or away from home in my vehicle. This radio has an emergceny bright light, a light to see by, an alarm clock, weather alert/advisory system, AM/FM radio, all of which is important to me.
I might add that the batteries can be charged for the sun.
Needless to say I am very pleased with the capabilities and would
recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DJC50 Portable Radio
I use this radio when I work in the yard or in the cellar, Basically any location where I want to listen to sports or NPR. This is my second radio from LLBean. The first one I used for so long I don't remember when I bought it. I don't use the hand crank. At my age I use batteries, 3 AAAs. My first one used 3 AAs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by internet Solar Emergency Weather Radio
The radio does a lot of different things including charging by cranking a handle, using electricity, and using batteries. The speaker system is good, clear, and pleasant to the ear. I would like to see LESS PLASTIC in it by improving the overall quality with more metal. Price is very reasonable for what you get. Shipping and delivery was on time and the shipping charge was free. L.L. Bean is THE BEST !

Rated 5 out of 5 by ReggieDunlap Utility for all occasions
This product is useful under any circumstances. I bought it primarily for the instant weather info I can get as soon as and when I need; possible emergencies with radio and light source, sailing, camping, picnics, even for morning news while I shave.
Battery, solar or dynamo...it works!

Rated 1 out of 5 by WhiskMagic Poor Quality Construction
Bought one of these and returned it. The idea is sound but the quality of the product is very poor. Appeared only to hold a charge for about an hour regardless if the charge was solar or using the crank handle, which broke off on day two.
Suggestion - if Bean wants to sell this product, have it made with all metal construction instead of plastic and double the price. Customers expect durable products from Bean, not this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yankeefan1956 Radio dies
Got this as a Christmas present after having week long blackouts after hurricanes the last two years. First try cranking it for the amount time told and would last only a few minutes of radio time. Then after putting batteries in it, it worked find for a few weeks. One day playing the radio it shut off by itself. Turned it back on and again goes off. The weather station would still play, but now that shuts off also. Right now I have an expensive clock instead of a radio and plan to get something similar elsewhere. I always liked Bean products, but they didn't well on this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gpaul The control features are hard to understand
I found the control features hard to understand , but managed to figure them out eventually. On the plus side the radio has good sound for a small unit.
