Rated 5 out of 5 by RBradley Excellent Hiker
My husband bought a pair of these through you years ago and he absolutely loved them. Sadly when he was ready for another pair you no longer were carrying them and he had to find them elsewhere. These are the best hikers he's ever had and he has bought 5 pairs over the years, 2 of which climbed Katahdin and crossed the knife edge. He finds them perfectly comfortable and supportive even with his flat feet. He wears them everyday to work where he is on his feet all day as an electrician. He has recommended them to many friends. Every now and again he meets someone who has the same hikers and they all say they love them and would buy no other hikers.
What a treat it was to see that you carry them again. He has already bought a new pair from you!

I thought the boots were a bit too stiff and narrow when I first got them. But now that I've worn them, they have both softened up (appropriately) and formed to my feet. I find they are a bit longish for size, but perhaps that is so toes don't squish on the downhill. I ordered a 10 b/c that's my size in most shoes, and I think I'm still happy with that size. If you want a real "performance fit" (I'm not sure that's appropriate with a hiking boot anyway), you might want to try sizing down 1/2 a size.
Supportive, structured, much more boot than the other offerings in Bean's similar line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Phaser They just fir !
I have had several pairs of these boots over the past nine or ten years as well as other brands. Without fail the other brands would fit OK at first then my feet would be aching by the end of the day, but the Merrill Phasers my feet are fine for all day and into the evening.
I use the same style of Superfeet insert for all my boots so I feel it is the design and the quality of the boot that sets these apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by aoal Out of box comfort
Very comfortable out of the box and minimal break in time. I have walked through some water with them with no issues of leaking. They are warm so we will see how they do this summer on some hikes along the AT.

I lost one of my old hiking boots and bought these as a replacement. They turned out to be very comfortable and seem like they would be great for backpacking. Good support and form fitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rickbest best one yet
I bought other hikers here and found them to be either too heavy or not water proof, these have stood up to some very wet conditions after a years time and still look good and still keep the wet conditions out. I'll buy these again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LLBeanLife Merrell Phaser Peak NOT Waterproof Hikers
I love LLBean, but these boots were very disappointing. I work in the backcountry and on my first trip my feet were soaked. I will never buy Merrell's again. LLBean should stick to their own products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LeonIsCool Fantastic Boots!
I've tried many different brands of this type of boot--should have looked at Bean's first. These are comfortable and provide sure-footed traction.
They are a bit warm for hot summer hikes but I'm looking forward to cozy feet in the Fall and Winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Medjoolguy Feeling the Fit
I have gone through several brands of Day Hikers and finally found one that felt great right out of the box. The fit is terriffic and the boots are very comfortable. I work on a 140 acre tree farm in South West Florida, complete with torrential rain and a lot of mud and standing water so I needeed something reliably waterproof as well as comfortable, since I walk 8-10 Miles a day.
The Merrills are grerat on all counts except one- they are a bit warm. They are warm but do not seem to breathe as well as a Gore Tex product. They are not unduly uncomfortaable, just warm.
All in all, great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by NJScoutLeader Very Comfortable
I purchased these boots as replacement boots for my LLBean Gortex Day Hikers. I picked this model because I thought it would be very comfortable and Merrell has a very good reputation. These boots were so comfortable on day one that I was sure that they did not need to be broken in (but I did anyway - just to be safe). After one solid week of wearing in the Poconos of PA at Camp Trexler, I can say that I will wear these boots again on my next Boy Scout outing. They have a lot of padding around the ankle for extra support. This is a great feature when walking on unfamiliar terrain in the dark. VERY COMFORTABLE !!!!
