this is what another reviewer named these shoes ...
I bought mine last fall, and have worn them every day for a three mile walk - some rain, some snow, etc. - still in very good condition.
They're great: fit me, comfortable, dry, warm. The laces are rather long and are starting to fray, but I guess laces are a consumable - though LL Bean doesn't seem to sell them.
Now if I can only find something comparable for warmer weather...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carpenterguy Great Fit
These are the most comfortable shoes I can find for everyday wear. I bought two pair. Nice and wide in the toe area, but heal stays comfortably snug. Good footbed as well.

I like the casual style, fit and they seem to be well made, they should hold up for years.

As other reviewers have written, these babies are comfortable right out of the box. I like their fit and look better than a similar model I have made by Keen. These are sturdy, comfortable and nice looking in a chunky sort of way. I wear an 11E and the 11 regular fits fine, if not a bit loose. The materials and workmanship appear to be excellent.

These may be the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have ever owned. Excellent arch support, plenty of space across the toes, and a great fit overall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by justgivemeanickname the laces are terrible!
The laces are terrible! Way, way too long and now, after only one fully winter of using the shoes, they are frayed and breaking. This will be the first LL Bean product I return.
Other than the laces, shoes are fine - ugly as expected - but do the job I wanted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WhimsicalNickName Look great, but no toe room.
These shoes look like the should have lots of toe room, what with their wide rounded construction. However, that is not the case due to the internal plastic toe cups that the manufacturer uses to shape the curve of the toes. These caps not only reduce the available space inside the shoe, but they also eliminate all flexibility at the toes greatly reducing the comfort level, and, as I can tell you from previous experience with other shoes of similar construction, causing the toes of your socks to wear out very quickly. Note, I am not talking about the external part of the sole that wraps up over the outside of the shoe.

REALLY, REALLY comfortable and nice looking shoe. Beats Keen shoe in fit, comfort, price, durability, and looks. Wish that I bought these before I got my Keens. Will ALWAYS come to LL Bean for shoes first in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LOLLYGAGGER GREAT SHOE
Up until now, my husband had only worn another famous brand of shoes that starts with C....., but I convinced him to try this shoe from LL Bean. It is sooo comfortable, even with his bunions, and is extremely well made and durable. Size and width are true and this shoe has a very forgiving wide toe box area. He is so pleased with these shoes!
