Rated 5 out of 5 by FLirishPM So comfortable I'm purchasing another pair
Probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever bought, hands down. LL Bean used to offer 2 other driving loafers, a kiltie/boat shoe style and a simple loafer, both in dark brown, and I purchased those too. They're comfortable too but with this pair it seems like the shape of the shoe is quick to conform to the contour of your foot which makes this loafer incredibly comfortable. I wore out my other pair and just ordered a replacement. I do wish LL Bean would partner with the manufacturer of these driving loafers and make replacement soles...just when the leather is getting nice and worn, faded and adopts some character, the soles wear out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Percussionista Comfortable but stinky
I bought a pair of these November 2013 but they mostly sit on the shelf now because they smell stinky, and socks that I wear with them pick up the smell too. Seems like a strong glue smell. There is also a slight tendency to tip left or right, perhaps because the bottoms are more flexible and have rounded sides rather than a wider and stiff dress shoe fit. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and look as advertised. As no one else seems to have mentioned this smell problem I will still recommend them and I hope the smell will dissipate though it's been several months now.

My wife bought me a pair of these for Christmas 2 years ago. The soles wore out and she decided I should have another because I wore them so much. I got a half size smaller on the second pair and they stretched to fit nicely. However, they still did not wear like a $100 pair of shoes should.

There really is a difference between Bison Leather an cow leather. You can feel the quality difference. For a few dollars more, you can own and wear the best. Great Value.

Shoe is much more impressive "live" than in the pictures. Typical Bean quality. I purchased as a gift. The recipient was delighted.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 99Shopper9999 Maybe Just This Pair . . .
Each shoe was a different shade of leather. Maybe it was just this pair. LLBean Customer Service said they would send another pair and have them inspected before they were sent. I chose not to do this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mikemikemike1st Well made
I wanted a slip on shoe to wear inside the house, something light weight that also had a durable sole. These are light and well made. The sole appears durable, but a touch narrow (however I am getting used to them).

Rated 4 out of 5 by StSamuel Great look, could be better fit & construction
I have had a couple pairs of these mocs: the 1st generation (still have) and the 3rd generation. The 1st gen were fantastic in all aspects - roomy, great looking, and rugged including being made out of tough bison skin and having vibram soles. I skipped the 2nd gen shoes because they didn't have the same look as the first. LL Bean returned to the original look for the 3rd gen, which I bought, but no longer offered the vibram soles or the bison leather in dark brown. And they seem narrower (I had to order the wide for them to fit). I wear them all the time and just recently had them re-soled with vibram, but now the stitching is failing around the toes. Hoping a 4th gen comes out that resembles the 1st gen, including the materials used and double stitch around the toes.

Have owned several pairs of these beauties, and just replaced the current units that I've worn constantly for nearly seven years, but I love and still wear the old ones, too. I also have two other pairs that are still in the box. At this rate, they should last me the rest of my life. Satisfied customer here.
