A few years ago I bought an LLB trailblazer flashlight and have always thought, "Wouldn't it be great if it included a leash?" So I was happy to see that they finally read my mind and made one. The flashlight is perfect, it shines ahead and also down on the ground so you can see where you are walking in the dark, and the rear red flasher adds safety. The leash is a tape, not a tiny string, so you don't have to worry about it breaking if you have a bigger dog, also it doesn't tangle or knot up. I love it, and bought one for a friend for Xmas along with a personalized waterhog dog dish mat. I know she will love them!

This is the Rolls Royce of Dog leashes. Yes, it costs way more than the ones you buy at the pet store. It is definitely quality construction. I am hoping it will last longer than the similar ones I have purchased elsewhere--typically 6-12 months. This leash is perfect for walking your dog in the dark--safety flashers, lights pointed straight ahead and at the ground. LED bulbs. I love it now--hopefully it will hold up.

I purchased this for our 45 pound springer spaniel but it did not last even 6 months. The retractable leash feature failed leaving it in the extended position. We do walk twice a day at least 1 mile at a time sometimes more and frequently used the retractable leash portion to let the dog out or bring her back in depending on the circumstances of where we were, traffic, other dogs, etc. Maybe it just failed due to overuse but I was hopeful it would last more than 6 months.

This was a gift from a friend and I was happy to retire the old leash to one with a light incorporated. I enjoyed it greatly for a couple of months, but now the selective light switch is not functioning. When working properly, it takes three presses to turn on all of the lights, and one to then turn them off. Now, if I press the button, all three lights come on and when I release the button, they all of off. I am back to having to carry a flashlight at night, so it is no longer very useful. I will exchanging it, but do not have high hopes after seeing the other feedback here. I am hoping the back order status it is in now is because they are fixing the design.

Recieved this as a Christmas gift and decieded to retire the old leash and try this one as the weather is breaking. After 2 weeks of use the locking portion totally doesn't work.Upon dissassembly the plastic arm is completey broken. WARRANTY????

I purchased one leash but the batteries died quickly and when I replaced the batteries, the light wouldn't turn off. LL Bean replaced the leash and we thought it was just a fluke. We liked the light for walking our two dogs at night so bought a second leash, unfortunately the same thing happened. We will be returning both leashes. Hugely disappointed. I thought LL Bean stood for quality and wouldn't continue to sell a product that performed so poorly.

I reviewed this back in November when I first got it and gave it 5 stars. Little did I know, I'd end up returning it as the light would stick on, burning out the batteries, then when we replaced the batteries couldn't get it to work again. We returned it, are on light #2 and are experiencing the same problem. This one will go back as well but we won't be trying a 3rd. It's disappointing that LL Bean would put their name on this product as it clearly does not live up to their standards.

Hi-
It has taken a little getting used to, but I have been enjoying using my new leash. However, the front light bulb just went out and I now need to figure out how to take it apart. I have only had it around 4 months.
Other than that, I have learned to definitely lock the leash when other dogs are around, or when I think the dog may get crazy. I also take the dog off the leash altogether when she wants to wander in the trees, etc and I don't. She does not back up very well, so it is best not to have her leashed for those circumstances.
I think my dog enjoys the freedom she has on the leash. Me too, as I can keep a better pace when walking. I think she also likes having a lighted path.
With the exception of the bulb going out so early, it's a really nice item to have.

My dog loves this more than I do. She loves the fact that she can roam around and sniff new parts of the neighborhood. She now goes under bushes, around trees, and the infamous squirrel!
My only issue is the battery compartment does not fit correctly when the batteries are in. No matter what I do, it will not sit flush.
Overall, it is a great product.

We were very satisfied while the light was working. Put out an adequate light alone for walking the dog in the dark. Seemed to be well made and I trust LLB Label. I may have just gotten a bad one but all the LED Lights stopped working less than two months after received. Not going to try again, I'll be returning it.
