Rated 5 out of 5 by JeanneMcB Finally size 2's in pants!!!!!
Love, love, love these pants and shorts. I'm so happy to see pants in my size 2 in the regular catalog after all these years. I agree that the waist a little loose, but not enough to make it a problem for me. I love the fabric; being able to throw them in the washer and dryer; and having them come out of the dryer without needing to iron them. I've bought the shorts in two colors and one pair of the pants. I'd love to see more women's pants in petites that are a size 2.

rise is too high, waist is too loose and the draw string does not really help. had to return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BeansRegular Getting closer to perfect
These are great cargo pants and I own 2 unlined and one lined pair. There are, however, a few changes that I would like to see to make these totally perfect as casual cargos.
The waist and hips run very generous in my normal size 4, making the drawstring waist not optional for me. When the drawstring loosens, the pants start sliding south. I am excited and happy to see these being offered in size 2, which should eliminate this problem. I will be ordering the size 2 soon.
The drawstring limits the ability to wear knit tops untucked. I would still like to see the drawstring eliminated and replaced with the adjustable elastic waist as in the Comfort Trail Pants, allowing for perfect waist adjustment with subtle appearance.
Despite all of the above these are wonderful and very comfortable stretchy (but not the out of shape stretchy) cargo pants for active people, at a reasonable price. The quality of the fabric and the great wash and dry performance keep them near the top of my list of favorites.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Persnickety Way too big in hips
I was excited to find these in Size 2 but while the waist was perfect, the legs were way too baggy and frumpy. I'm small at 4'11" but sturdy at 108 lbs with solid thighs, and I do NOT like pants that are too tight, but these were way too baggy. Had to send them back

Rated 5 out of 5 by Valere great, comfy pants
I LOVE these cargo pants. I have a pair in every color. I wear a 16 petite and the fit is great and the length is perfect. They are wonderfully comfortable and I wear them everywhere. They are exceptional for hiking as I can keep my little Canon Elf camera in one button pocket and kleenex and chapstick in the other. As I see them offer new colors, I snap them up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LadyLou sizing caution
I routinely buy LLBean and other brand size 6 pants. This size 6 was too big and I should have returned it for a size 4. I ditto other comments - the front pockets are not deep enough to securely hold anything, the leg pockets would be better with a quick access zipper and the waist front tie is annoying. I do like the cargo style. The fabric is soft and washed with no trouble for me.

Fantastic fit. Very comfortable yet still nicely flattering. Fabric is soft and touchable. Definitely a new favorite.

Rated 3 out of 5 by IllinoisBeader Good everyday casual pants
The color is good, fabric sturdy but wrinkles after laundering. My biggest issue with them is the fit. While the waist is fine, the seat-hip-thigh area is baggy and loose. My height is 5'3", weight 120 so I got size 6 petite. A size 4 would maybe fit in the hips-legs better but be too tight in the waist. Probably the pants would fit better on someone with a small waist but much bigger hips and thighs in proportion. I've had a similar problem with other L. L. Bean pants and wish the fit and cut could be altered to fit more realistically like other brands I've bought.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Crystalynne The most unflattering pair of pants I own, but...
... since it's near impossible to find cargo pants in size talls, I have to keep 'em. My husband insisted I keep them for our 'doomstay' survival kit.
First of all, these are NOT in any way, shape or form 'low' waist. These sat right in the middle of my natural waist, which is sooooooo unflattering. Cut too small in the waist, period.
The hips and butt are cut WAY generously. I don't understand how these can flatter anyone - the modeled pictures have certainly been doctored or the fit has changed dramatically. I can't even find my butt behind all the 'bag' of these pants.
The pockets were roomy and the fabric was soft, where were one of the few pluses.
So yes, I'm keeping them, but only using them to high-tail it out of the city if the world ends. So take this review how you will. :)

Denim for work would be awsome. Rise is too high comes to my waste, draw string has no function, needs belt loops, I am buying cargo because I carry a lot of stuff incl key sets. Not enough spandex, pants stretch a lot don't bounce back.
