I will start off by saying that I love LLBean, (my husband loves his Wicked Good Slippers!) but when I received this jacket, I was immediately disappointed. I could NOT get my arm through it, even when i had short sleeves underneath?I've encountered jackets like this while trying them on in other stores, but I always assumed it was a manufacturing error. I made the mistake of not reading the other 100+ reviews that all state the same thing, so I had a feeling that the sleeves were going to be an issue. Not sure why nothing has been done to address this problem!!! Now I have to spend $6.50 to send it back? :(

I was a little leery about this jacket because of the reviews about the arm lining getting stuck on everything Well, it does. It is a little difficult to get this jacket on over sleeves of any kind except short. As I ofter do wear just a tee shirt under my jacket, this will not be a big problem for me. I did wear it yesterday though with a long sleeve shirt. It was a little difficult to get on but not impossible. Otherwise, I loved this jacket. It is just the right amount of insulation, water and wind resistance. I like that the hood is lined also. Yes it will take a little extra time to put it on when I am wearing long sleeves but overall I think it will be worth it.

Love this jacket but wish it had smooth lining in the sleeves as it is very difficult to get your arms in with a sweater or fleece on.
Also, I wish it had snaps for the wind flap instead of velcro which
catches on anything knit. Other than that its a nice jacket.

Sleeves are narrow to start with but the fleece lining is impossible. As you put your arm in, the lining clings to any fabric except maybe satin and bunches at the cuff so your hand won't go through. Very disappointing. Guess I'll stick with my 10 year old windbreaker with a cotton sweatshirt fabric type of lining. It fits perfectly and the natural fabric doesn't cling like the synthetics do. With a nearly $100 price tag I expected better quality.

The lining on the sleeves make this jacket ridiculous to wear. The zippper gets jammed constantly.

I first ordered this jacket that does NOT have the fleece liner. I sent it back and purchased this one, and absolutely LOVE it!!! The liner provides a little extra warmth for those cold rainy days/nights here in Maine. Also, the jacket does not make a lot of "noise" while moving in it. Perfect for walking my dog on rainy days!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by FoothillsLiving Close But Not Quite-Look Out Petites!
This is a nice quality jacket-well made and attractive. I have ordered regular sized products from LL Bean before and have had no difficulty with fit. However, the fit is off for a petite person in this case. For reference, I am 5'2", weight is 102 pounds and I have a 36C chest. Arms are likely short-I am petite. So, the jacket in a medium has enough room across the chest and when you stretch your arms forward in front of you at shoulder height, there is enough give. Waist and hips are fine. The fleece lining is quite warm and I would guess a very light layer underneath would be sufficient-maybe even with a vest.
The problem is the arm length. When the velcro sleeve straps are secured the sleeves tend to bunch up around the upper arm. It causes a noticeable and uncomfortable "tightness" and strain across the upper arm. When the velcro straps are let loose and the sleeves just hang down, then there really is no issue. My guess is that with the velcro straps in place, walking along and swinging your arms and doing regular movement, your upper arms would become irritated after a short time. So, back the jacket goes. I think the jacket is worth a try at least and so that is why I gave it the4 stars and the OK to recommend to a friend with the above caveat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Finessa Great jacket for wet days
I bought this jacket for a trip to Ireland where we were assured we would have rain. To be honest, we had great weather in October, but leaving one site it started to pour and a nasty wind came up. My husband and I both had on our new LL Bean Trail Model Jackets and we were both very glad we did. We used the hoods up and zipped to combat the wind and rain that came at us and arrived with wet pants, but everything the jacket covered was dry. The jacket can roll up small for packing but works hard when the weather turns.
My only suggestion to improve this jacket is to follow a cue from the great LL Bean hoodie sweatshirt I have, use a silky lining on the sleeves. This jacket is hard to pull on over long sleeved thermal shirts or almost any shirt, I really prefer the easy donning of the Katindan Iron Works sweatshirt. That would make it perfect.

The fleece lining makes it difficult to put the jacket on over a flannel shirt or any fabric that has a nap to it. The outside fabric is noisy, makes crinkly noise whenever you move in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PA8188 Great jacket- sad return
I thought that this was a wonderful coat when it arrived. I wore it once with short sleeves on a chilly day and it slid right on. Wore it today with a long sleeve blouse- the fleece lining in the coat sleeves is a big problem. It was a project to get the coat on, then I felt all "bunched up" in the car the whole way to work.
I will be sad to see this go back.
