Bought this coat last year in the Navy and loved it so much I just bought the jacket today in the blue. I wear the coat to work and plan to wear the jacket during the cold months when I am walking my dogs in the rain and snow. Can't wait to get it. Fits great and is light weight which I love.

I purchased this parka to endure walking my children to school in Cleveland's winters and working outside on playground duty, it has worked out perfectly! I am a 5'1" female so I bought the petite small and couldn't be happier with the fit and warmth the coat doesn't swallow me up and I love the hood! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I purchased the green and it is a bit brighter than I anticipated, but not so bad to return it.

I like this coat--it is warm enough and a good length, it looks good for a parka type coat, and I actually like the feel of that "furry" poly lining inside. Like the zippers on the pockets too. And I find the hood is actually warm and can be tightened when it's really windy out. But the zipper is a pain. it is repeatedly difficult to engage the teeth-- I've used soap on it and that works, but wears off. I don't want to send the coat back because I do like it, but the zipper is a daily frustration and I wonder how long it will last.

I've managed with layering fleece, vest, and raincoat for a while, so I did a lot of looking around and research for an "all-in-one" coat. Finding quality outerwear in extended sizes is difficult and LLBean has a nice selection. I chose the Winter Warmer Coat after reading their reviews and since I have a tendency to NOT wear my coat, it was important that I find one that was user friendly. It's a perfect weight, provides nice coverage, is flattering, warm, and comfortable. I must add too that it is forgiveable for those times I take it off and throw into the back seat. I chose the deep raspberry color which is more berry colored than the somewhat russet looking picture showed. The zipper issue that many of the reviewers mentioned has not been a problem and the sleeves are just right length for me. Overall, I'm very happy with my "all-in-one" coat and might consider owning two coats and get another color!

I love this coat in almost every way. I have it myself, and there is nothing wrong with mine. However, my daughter has had two and neither coat's zipper was functional. LL Bean, please work on this coat. I would not trade mine for another. When and if my zipper fails, I will have someone replace it with a metal zipper. I know that I would be willing to pay a few dollars more for a better zipper to begin with. Other customers are complaining about plastic zippers in other winter wear items. One of the great things about this coat is that for those of us who cannot wear a "waterproof" jacket, this jacket is perfect. The waterproof outerwear items are too hot for some of us ladies who are suffering from our own personal summers year round. We still love LL Bean, and are wearing your boots, t-shirts, pants, and some heavy wool shirts that are almost 40 years old, passed down from grandfather.

Looking for a coat to wear on the weekends when it's not frigid. I've got my Acadia coat for that. First, the color, royal purple. I guess I should have paid more attention to the color description rather than what I saw on my computer. It's not what I wanted. I prefer more of a plum or something less vibrant when it comes to a coat. The fit was strange for me. I am a med petite (5'0, 36C, 124 lbs) who needs a coat that is roomy in the shoulders, but tapers through the waist/hip area. This coat is roomy in the shoulders, maybe a tad too big, and too big everywhere else. I would have to cinch the drawcord too much for my taste to make it fit well. Quality is good.

I called customer service last fall in a panic! My beloved Carhartt coat was starting to deteriorate & I can't find a women's Carharrt in the southern region anywhere! If you're in doubt, just order it let me help you with that decision! I called LLBean as I have before & explained the temperatures we have in Southeastern Oklahoma & all. The lady recommended this coat, I got it in Purple my favorite, favorite color!! This coat blocks the wind better than the Carharrt coat I had & I wore that for 10 years living in Michigan, seriously! This coat is also much better @ repelling water!!! I also LOVE the fact the hood is attached & sewn in not like the snaps of the Carharrt hood I had! I don't like a cold head especially when it's windy! Just order it you'll be glad you did!

I purchased this coat in an XS Petite (I'm 5'2, 103 lbs) as I usually wear an XS-S in coats. I was so surprised by how large it was. The arm length was ok, but the coat was far too roomy around the chest and waist, even with a sweater underneath. I was disappointed since I've been looking everywhere for a warm winter coat, and the length seemed great. I returned it and received a refund; sad that there was no XXS though.

I bought this parka in the Pacific Blue last winter and it has been great. My only complaint is that it isn't warm enough for our -40C temps here in Manitoba, Canada. If LLBean ever comes out with a COLD weather, knee-length parka in Plus Sizes, I'll have it in a New York minute! I love LLBean products and I especially appreciate their return policy!

I love my coat (parka)! Keeps me warm, without having to wear an extra layer, in our Chicago area weather so I can shop in this coat without roasting! Also nice style and can wear it with nice slacks. I am just under 5' and have a hard time finding clothes that fit. I ordered a petite XS in black and it fits me perfectly. Good length for me too as full length coats are too long. No problem with the sturdy two-way zipper, just line it up & zip. If Beans were to improve this coat I would suggest: 1) deeper inside pocket so whatever I put in there isn't over my boob. 2) lower inside drawstring a bit so it sits at natural waist. 3) deeper hood so my bangs don't get wet when caught in the rain/snow. Sometimes I wish there was an extra pocket or two so I don't have to carry a purse. I have compared this coat to other brands & this is the best! Thanks L.L.Bean!
