Rated 4 out of 5 by Cottagecountry Gorgeous skirt but not quite right
I am almost embarrassed to share my experience, compared with some of the others who indicated that the waist was too large - yikes! I had the opposite problem. I ordered my usual size 12 and it was very tight. I usually order trousers and shorts with the comfort waist option, so maybe that is the route I should go.
LLBean, could you please offer this lovely garment in a comfort waist option? I would buy one in every colour, as I love, love, love long skirts; they re so classy, comfortable and professional looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by carol1949 great skirt
I ordered this skirt to wear over the Christmas/New years Holidays.
It is lined so no slip is needed will be plenty warm enough and will go perfectly with a dressy sweater. It has belt loops to can be dressed up with a nice belt and dressy blouse. The length is perfect. I am 5'7".
I ordered a size 6 because reviews said it fits large. I was worried if I should have ordered an 8 but the reviews were correct and the 6 is perfect. I think a 4 would have fit until I ate a Christmas dinner!
All it needs is a bit of ironing and I am ready for the holidays.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PetXtraSmall Great, but . . .
This skirt really does look and also feel rather like wool, and with the lining, it's very warm which is just what I need for winter in the Virginia mountains. I also really, really, really like the long length for warmth. At 74, I still have a slim figure and shapely legs, but I don't want to wear clothes that make me look like I'm trying to pass for 49! Besides, when you sit down in skirts above the knee, let's just say that the world can learn more about you than you want them to know.
The bad thing about the skirt is the sizing which is way, way too large, especially at the waist. I have a 28" waist and usually wear a size 8 (fits very slightly loose), but with this I had to get a 4 and it's still too big. I've moved the button an inch which works well enough for me because I wear flannel shirts a lot with the shirt tails out, or long sweaters that cover the alteration well enough.
I bought the grey, the black and tan hounds tooth, and the black and white herringbone. They are suitable for dressing up and down, both, depending on what kind of top you pair them with. I have looked and looked for long A-line skirts for several years, and LLBean, you've answered my prayers to find some. I'm set for the winter, thanks, but next year, fix the sizing please!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiltdream Pleasantly Surprised.
This is a lovely skirt. I was not sure about a non wool skirt that looks like wool, but I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised at how great the fabric looks and feels. This is a great skirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HarmonyGal My new favorite wardrobe item.
I ordered this skirt in my normal size and returned it for a size smaller. The smaller size fit perfectly. I was skeptical about washing it, but was very pleasantly surprised - it washes up beautifully. I love skirts, being a pear shaped person, sometimes they're hard to find. I love this skirt so much I've ordered a 2nd one and will be getting a 3rd, soon. I love them with boots, can dress them up with frilly tops or wear them casually, too, with flats. I can wear my favorite belt with it or put a twin set on and leave it untucked and it looks great. The pockets are the perfect size, too. Thanks for making such a tailored, well-made article of clothing at an affordable price. I love these skirts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by CosmicBlue Do You Love Long Skirts?
This skirt is made with a beautiful, soft fabric and is tailored very nicely. I would recommend this skirt to a friend with some reservations. First, you must love long skirts. Second, order a smaller size as others have suggested. I ordered my usually L.L. Bean size, but I could put both hands inside the waistband. The wide A line of the long skirt made it feel awkward. I decided to exchange it for a shorter skirt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by golfingmom unfortunately too big
I gave this 3 stars because it is a nice skirt, but I really wish it had fit. I ordered a 4 Petite (which is about my size) and I was swimming in it. Wish it was offered in smaller sizes (perhaps a 2 Petite would have fit).

Rated 5 out of 5 by BluJay Good quality, perfect 3-season fabric
Ordered the Riding skirt in two colors and am extremely happy with fabric: very soft, peppy-looking herringbone, well-stitched. Pockets are ample, tho' not huge, and will hold a cell phone. I am 5'3", 120 lb. and like calf-length skirts, so size 6 suits me perfectly. I also want old fashioned fit in the waist, not the trendy halfway down the belly style. This is marginally below waist, but a belt fixes that. Belt loops are another big plus. Haven't needed to launder yet but am keeping my fingers crossed. LL bean got it right this time for lovers of classic style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by pat50 a little larger than normal
This skirt is larger than normal, as the other reviews indicate. Order a size small. For me it worked out perfectly because I normally wear a women's size, that they don't sell in this skirt.
The material is heavy enough for fall and winter here in New England. I will finally be able to keep my legs warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wings23 New Favorite Skirt
I have found a new favorite skirt. I like this skirt so much, I wish Texas would hurry it on up and get a little cooler, so I can wear it again, and the gray one I also ordered. (We had one of those cool days where I got to bring it on out, but only one). I can't wear wool, because no matter how many linings wool clothes have, I feel it and get itchy. So I love that this has the look of a nice classy wool skirt, without actually being wool. It is a flannel fabric, and since flannel is my favorite fabric, this is a dream. It is nicely lined so that the skirt falls well and doesn't get all full of static thereby riding up tights. I am 5' 4" and wear a 29" in pants. I ordered the petite in this skirt, and that is a perfect length with how I wear it, it falls about 4" above my ankles and looks stunning with boots. I don't actually like classic fit (I am a favorite fit fan) and order one size up in classic fit so that I can wear the fit lower on my waist. I ordered this one size up and it was actually more like 1 1/2 sizes up. I need to wear a belt with it, but I always wear a belt to keep my cell phone on, so that is fine. Others don't like it a little big, but I love that! The one thing about it I don't like is that it gets a little wrinkly after on the back after sitting all day. But overall, just about the nicest skirt I have ever found.
