Rated 5 out of 5 by Mathchef The jacket I have been looking for for years
Thank you Bean! Finally you have brought back a classic heavy wool blazer. I bought several similar blazers from Bean many years ago and my black one was showing wear at the sleeves. I have tried to replace it for several years, but could not find anything similar until now. Wish it came in more colors. Some other reviewers complained that it was a bit "boxy" in shape. Well, hey, some of us are a bit boxy in shape. It fits me well. It is heavy weight and very warm. Very happy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dengland doesn't feel like cashmere
While the jacket fits and is cut well for my figure, it has a very rough feel. Not what I expected in a wool/cashmere jacket. Sending it back!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Irishtrish Beware of this jacket
This is probably the most beautiful, comfortable jacket that I have ever ordered. Unfortunately, they have sewn a tag on the bottom of the outside sleeve that is impossible to get off without damaging the sleeve. I carefully tried to remove it for half an hour and still ended up with a hole. I could just cry. No sense ordering it again until these tags are removed stating the materials are from Italy. Why ll bean did this I will never understand.
I will be returning it tomorrow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Laurieyoga Sewn in cashmere tag on sleeve -ridiculous!!!!
My boyfriend bought me this beautiful blazer for Xmas. It has a tag that says cashmere sewn onto the top of the sleeve. I do not want a tag on the sleeve and have been trying for an hour to cut it off but it so tightly sewn that I am picking up the threads from the blazer in the process of removing the tag. I am very disappointed in this blazer because of the tag and suggest to llbean that they do no have a tag right on the sleeve.
I am ruining the jacket as I try to cut out the stiches to the tag.

Nice material and length. (PLEASE TAKE NOTE LLBEAN STAFF - MORE LONGER LENGTH JACKETS).
But it is totally shapeless. I have a 37 inch bust 29 inch waist and 40 inch hips. I would need to be built like a beer keg for this jacket to fit properly. It's a real shame as I am prepared to pay for a well made jacket but so many of LLBeans blazers are shapeless sacks. Reading other comments I am not alone in my quest for a fitted blazer.
LLBean are you listening!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by PaddysGirl good classic jacket
This jacket is not trendy; it's a good, solid, classic that can be used for years. It is neatly sewn, and the fabric is both soft and sturdy. It is on the long side which is very welcome in a winter jacket. The lining is a special delight. I'm a teacher and I bought this for work. I chose the navy blue, as a useful and adaptable color. I am considering buying another. LLBean could make this decision easier for me if they would offer this jacket in a good dark green!

Rated 5 out of 5 by andorm Good quality.
My mom had this since last season and it held up great. However, when it originally shipped, although it shipped quickly, the envelope that it was in practically fell apart by the time it reached my front door. Thank goodness it was wrapped in multiple layers of plastic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by nothingatallordinary NOT 20% CASHMERE AS ADVERTISED.
This fabric is not 20% cashmere. It's only 10% cashmere. I have this jacket in the black boucle from last year and it is/was indeed 20% cashmere. This year's model doesn't look or feel or fit the same either. Of course I'm returning it but I'm soooooo disappointed that I have to send my guilty pleasure back. Sigh!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarinerLady IT'S NOT AVAILABLE IN PLUS SIZES
Apparently, LL Bean decided not to make this nice blazer available in plus sizes this year although in years past the blazer was available and was of very nice quality. I am more and more disappointed with classic items like this being discontinued for the larger sizes. Please reconsider next year. Now I must go on a scavenger hunt that I would really rather not have to do.

Do you see the length of this blazer? Do you, Bean's? Go forth and make a dozen jackets and blazers like it.
Yes, it's expensive, but I expect it to last for years.
Yes, I have short arms and these would fit a gorilla and I had to pay to shorten the sleeves.
Yes, it's cut boxy, but then, I'm a bit boxy and this fits over a turtleneck and sweater vest just fine. If you want a trim fit sleek blazer this is not for you.
But it's the length and fabric that make this blazer an "old time classic"! It's not the short length, it's a real "cover your rear" length. I know I'm old-fashioned, but I don't like blazers and jackets that stop at about my hip!
The pockets are good sized, the back vent is the right length, the "hand" of the fabric is great (just the right % of cashmere) and my seamstress wanted to know where the fabric came from because "I haven't seen anything this classy in a long time."
