I love everything about my plaid wellies. They are the perfect height, very comfortable w/the cushioned sole, and adorable. I get many compliments when I wear them. My true size is a 7 1/2 (foot is tad wide) - so, based on the reviews I ordered a size 8. They were way too big. I returned and got the size 7. The fit is perfect even with thicker socks.

The rubber cracked almost all the way around the ankles, after only 5 months; too bad, they look & fit great, great price too...

Rated 1 out of 5 by PondGirl55 Two pairs of Wellies cracked
Sorry to say the first pair cracked where the foot meets the shaft, as others have described, after only a few times wearing them (just for walking in the rain, not for working in the barn). LL Bean replaced them no question, but the next pair cracked too, again after only a few times of light use. This time I returned them and got the original Bean boots, which are sturdier--so far so good. Sorry these didn't work because they are what I really wanted. LL Bean was very cooperative. I hope they improve the product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Goatygirl Lasted 4 months on the farm
Purchased in November, by March the front had cracked open where the shaft meets the foot. Granted, I use them nearly every day, but I did expect more than 4 months' use out of them.
They are a cute style, and the short profile makes it easy to slip the pant leg into the shaft. They're machined better than the cheap department store rain boots, with no noticeable seam inside. I found the foot a bit under-padded, so added an insole. With the insole, they were quite comfortable, and the insole added a bit of insulation. I also purchased a few wellie socks, which make them lovely on a moderately cold day. On really cold days, my husband would be happy and toasty in his Bean Thinsulate boots, and I'd be running to the house for foot warmers. We have wet winters and clay soil, which can be treacherously slick, but I always had enough traction in these boots.
Farming, I'm walking around and squatting down to pat an animal or pick up things the goats or llamas might try to chew. I suspect it's the squatting down that did the boots in. So they might be just fine for walking, just not for working. I'll be picking up my own pair of thinsulate boots to replace these.
Fit-wise, I'm a solid 7 1/2M, sometimes 8. I bought size 7 and it fit fine and had enough room for an insole and a wellie liner without feeling overly snug, but they aren't uncomfortably loose with just a sock, either.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WVU95 Cracked, Seem from toe to heel separated
These boots did the trick until the seem around the toe to heal started to separate. Also the they have cracked in all areas where my foot bends. The plaid pattern has worn off in the toe areas as well. The boots were not even a year old when they started cracking and for what they cost, I expected them to last much longer. Thanks to LL Bean's great return policy, I am returning them for a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by goldemMom Great wet weather boot
I bought these boots after leaving the desert southwest for rainy Maryland. I use them to take the dogs out in all weather. What I love most is how easy these boots are to wash after I step in one of their presents in the yard. My yard is very unlevel, and these boots are stable in my new yard. While, they are not insulated, my feet stay warm when I wear a heavier pair of wool socks. I love these as my dog playtime boots. I have not walked any distance in them since I own more supportive water-resistant shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LaffingNMapping Way too small!
I am a size 6.5 (was measured two months ago). I read that the wellies run large, but I felt safe in a 7 because they're wellies and obviously I'd be wearing some thick socks with them most of the time. But they were ridiculously small. Too tight even without socks.
So I sent them back for 8s. It's better (I can wear socks with them), but still a little snug, but had I known that the 8 runs this small, I would have ordered 9s; I won't send them back again because it costs too much.
The quality seems decent enough, though I've only worn them once.
Others say the sizing is too small. Do yourself a favor and avoid getting these; too much of a hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 Love 'em!
My wellies just arrived a few days ago, and have been put to the test already. I love them. I wear them while working outside on muddy ground, and while watering. It's only about 38 outside, and, with warmers, my feet stayed dry and toasty.
