Rated 5 out of 5 by TravelerHiker Hello again, old friend
I haven't worn a chamois flannel shirt for years - just moved to different styles, I guess. But I missed their utility for camping and hiking - they're great to layer and stay comfortable when the weather changes fast. So when this came available in petite I bought one. Great fit, fabric weight just right for warmth when buttoned over a turtleneck or under a sweater but cool enough when worn open over a cami. Washes well - I saw some reviewers said theirs shrank but maybe that has been fixed...the shrinkage on mine was minimal. No shaping seams down the front, hooray, but it nips in a bit at the waist which is flattering. Just tried to get an additional color but all in my size are sold out so will have to wait until fall I guess.#Also agree with reviewer who wanted these in "guy" colors...brown, black, deep green, etc. I work in mine. Dirt shows like crazy on pastels, and who camps in white? Definitely will buy another. Hope they don't change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanOnMe Green Hunter XS
Green is a new color in my wardrobe. This Hunter shade is a nice dark green, sort of pine green (if you wonder.. because on the monitor it seems much darker, more of a blackish green which I adored and hoped for). The style of this shirt is also new in my closet and I find it interesting to wear and get used to something so foreign yet beautiful. XS fits fine on my 105 over 5'. It is a warm fabric, and I think the Western NY weather will allow me to use it here into spring. I can wear it as a shirt tucked in or as a light jacket (untucked) buttoned or unbuttoned - all ways look attractive. And last note, regarding wearing it in sync with my husband.. well it tickled me pink to wear the green while he wore his blue. So glad I tried a chamois.

Rated 5 out of 5 by shopperwholovesquality Excellent shirt!
At first I thought this shirt wasn't as nice as the old chamois shirts, but now after wearing it I have noticed that I actually like it better. The lighter fabric is easier to tuck in if you so desire and the more fitted fit is so much more flattering. My old shirts are big and billowy and do absolutely nothing for me. This shirt is comfy, but certainly not frumpy. I don't think it runs small in the least and it didn't shrink either. I don't have to iron it as some as stated. I hope LLBean continues to carry these shirts. I got the elderberry color and it is beautiful. By the way I am 5'4" 120lbs. and got an XS.

Love the berry color just be forewarned the wheat leans to the mustard side of the color wheel. Mustard not a flattering color for me but the style and fit are perfect. I really wish the swatch shown had appeared more mustard, I would have chosen another color had I been aware of the true color.

Loved the idea of a Chamois Shirt, but it seems like Women don't get the same experience as Men. The material is not near as thick, and when I washed it, it shrunk up about a size and a half. Very disappointed in that. I ordered the men's version, and ordered a little larger size thinking that it might shrink also. It did not seem to shrink, so I now have a shirt that's a bit big. It's my opinion that women also deserve to have the better, thicker material. For the price, the quality should be the same.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Another Not relaxed fit
I should have gone with my first impression. I've worn and loved LLBean's chamois shirts for ages, and was sad when they were discontinued several years back. I've been holding on to all my old ones, though by now they are looking shabby. So I was thrilled when the catalog showed them again - but also a little worried. Although the description read "Relaxed fit," the model wearing it appeared to be extremely slender, i.e. practically anything would have looked roomy on her. I held off for a while, but eventually succumbed to the lure of a new chamois shirt. After two washings, my XL-P is 1' wider at the bust, but otherwise the same size as my old 12-R. The only relaxed parts were the cuffs where, even after moving the buttons in 1", I could still slip my hands through the buttoned cuffs.
Mine was purchased in August 2012, and I no longer have the original catalog. However I note the same shirt in the Christmas catalog does not mention the shaping seams which make my shirt too snug to be termed "relaxed," and it does say "adjustable cuffs," which - if that means extra buttons - did not come with mine.
Perhaps Bean and the manufacturer were still tweaking the product over the summer and fall.

This is an attractive, comfortable, cosy-feeling shirt. It's a lot less warm than the men's version--that's good or bad depending on what you want, so order accordingly. The men's is very warm.
It runs very small. The medium is slightly smaller than my small Big Shirts. I did not have any shrinkage problem, but I dry clothes with no heat.

Why do companies make women's clothing lighter weight when women get cold easier than men? One of those questions I would love an answer to. Anyway this is lighter than the men's version, as described in the description. Still a nice shirt, especially in comparison to other companies versions. I think the fit is normal for their button up shirts. I tried both the men's and women's in store. The women's fit me better, but I liked the mens better because of the weight and colors. I would buy a women's if it came in black, navy, charcoal, brown, hunter green, or white and the fabric was the same weight as the men's. I am just not into the color selection, I prefer colors that go with everything.

The fabric is flimsy--this is just average flannel. The color is not like the picture and fit isn't very relaxed. This will be returned.
