Rated 5 out of 5áby Spirithorse Best mittens!
I have owned three pair of these mittens. I have horses and live in WY, so I am outdoors quite a bit. Being comfortable is important so I have found the best products to keep me warm outside. These mittens are a staple in my wardrobe.

These are great!! They keep my hands toasty and are light weight. I love the plum color. They run a little large but I am afraid if I exchange them for a medium I won't be happy with that fit. Nice and long so my wrists stay warm as well.

I bought these mittens for my girlfriend at work She has a medical condition which causes her hands to turn white and her circulation decreases when she gets cold. We live in Ohio and she was coming in to work every morning and having to run her hands under hot water to warm them up and increase her circulation before her hands would work well and turn pink again. Well it hurt my heart to see her in pain every morning so I got her these mittens. She loves them and her hands don't go white anymore on her way to work. It makes my heart smile when I see her every morning when she comes in and she isn't in pain anymore.

They arrived quickly, fit comfortably and are warm. My hands are always cold. We have had some early cold days and they kept my hands very warm. Quality is tip top.

I purchased these mittens to add a pair to match a newer coat. The down mittens I had previously purchased matched a different coat. I purchased the same size (I have large hands for a woman) and they fit perfectly. The weather has turned very cold here and my hands are toasty. Driving the car to work, I sometimes take the mittens off after my car has warmed sufficiently, but I put them back on before I get out of my car. Love down clothing!

I have Renault's Disease so am always looking for something that will keep my hands warm. I hoped these mittens would do it, but they're not really very thick or warm. But with hand warmers inside they do help, much more than gloves. They're awkward like all mittens, though.

Over this past summer, we moved to the western (and colder) part of the state. As we love to spend time outdoors, I purchased these mittens in anticipation of the colder weather. It hasn't been extremely cold yet, but I've worn them already on nippy November mornings. I can tell they are going to serve me very well through even the coldest part of the winter season.

I was looking forward to this mitten and really disappointed when it arrived. The seam joint between the thumb and the hand was tight right onto the web between my thumb and hand. I had ordered both the lg. & med. and both sizes fit this way. My concern with it fitting so tight was getting cold too easily in that spot. Also that much stress could lead to tears or broken threads quite quickly. Other than that they fit fine.To my disappointment I returned both pair.

We sure have had enough snow to test these this winter. Keep hands warm and dry. Great purchase!

I purchased these mittens to replace an old pair of very loved, non-L.L. Bean down mittens. I originally purchased a M size because I have always worn medium sized gloves/mittens (my hand measures 7.5" around the knuckles). Needless to say, I was surprised at how small they were. It took a lot of effort to get them on, and once I did, there was little room inside for movement. I exchanged them for a size L, and they fit much fit much better.
Unfortunately, I am not that impressed with their performance. I've been wearing them to walk in the single-digit temperatures and my hands have been cold. It seems the bulk of the down is on the back-side of the mitten, and it is quite bulky on the back-side. The palm-side and the thumb aren't as insulated, and are more vulnerable to the cold. Also, my hands get very dry in the winter time and for some reason, my dry hands are "catching" on the lining material - I wish it was a better fleece material.
I am keeping them only because I need something, and I am hoping they will wear in a bit. But, from my first impression, they are just "acceptable" for now.
