Keep dirt off your floors – and help the environment too – with our L.L.Bean-exclusive Waterhogs®. True to its name, this extremely durable crush resistant mat holds up to 1.5 gallons of water per square yard. The sturdy 30 oz. polyester fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, which helps conserve natural resources and reduce landfill. Our doormats are heavier and more durable than similar ones, with a unique fiber system that features thick fibers for scraping and thin fibers for wiping. Border allows water to drain from all sides. Rubber backing offers excellent traction on all surfaces; contains recycled rubber. Sizes are approximate. USA.

Vacuum or sweep clean. For a more thorough cleaning, we recommend washing your mat outside with mild liquid dish soap and water. Use a spray nozzle, pressure washer or scrub brush, then rinse and hang the mat to drip dry.

I read all the reviews which were mostly '5-star' and decided to purchase them. I bought two in the large rectangle size. They are attractive and functional. It doesn't matter what you deal with: snow, mud, leaves, grass, etc., these mats grab it all! I have one on my porch in front of my door and one in my mudroom entry way just as you come in. Double protection! They vacuum well. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat. The cat likes to sharpen her claws on the rugs. The rugs have been peed and pooped on by my dogs. No problem. I just apply liquid detergent then hose them off and they're 'good as new'. The rugs are indestructible. I am buying a third one - in the Crescent shape to go in front of my LR stairs that go up to the 2nd floor. I highly recommend these rugs! April 23, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5�by activebusinessowner durable looking Purchased two of the waterhog mats one outdoor mat for my entry doorway and one for the interior of that same door - I selected the brown color - just wanted to let others know that the brown color pictured is not the brown that you are going to receive - the mat is much lighter brown - was disappointed with the color but I am going to keep the mats anyway to see how well they wear. I have a high suction Dyson vacuum and it cannot pull the dirt from this mat. I am considering getting rid of because of the difficulty in cleaning it. October 15, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5�by Keltoncat 10 years I have this rug in the large size by my front door. It has been outside for 10 years under a covered entrance. I also have the large crescent rug, for 11 years, and it is by the back door, outdoors in all kinds of weather. I have had other outdoor rugs, not LLBean, and after a season, they fell apart. I would recommend these LLBean rugs to all. October 12, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5�by dmrmsr Function and Form Both Great Just purchased our second waterhog outdoor mat to use at a second entry door, this time in brown. The first one, green, which we've had in place at the front door for at least six years works very well to clean feet before entry and looks as good now as the day we laid it down. Love the leaf pattern. We've only had to sweep these with a broom to clean them off. Worth every penny and then some of the reasonable price for this quality. September 23, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5�by sleeper48 Legendary performance The mat catches leaves, twigs, clots of mud, grass clippings, potting soil, etc., and gets most of what comes in the door before it gets to my bare floor. I take it outside to spray off, and the sun dries it in about 30 minutes (depending on the day). It is a real work-saver when you have a house full of dogs. My little cat loves to sharpen her claws on it, and has done so practically daily since we got the mat. There is no evidence of this habit on the mat. I don't believe there is a better product of it's type on the market. September 18, 2012
