Rated 5 out of 5 by OutdoorsAllDay This is the length I've been waiting for!
This is the long version of the DX H2OFF parka, which I also purchased, and which I reviewed - so all my positive comments I made about it apply to this coat, and because I was a little disappointed with the 30" length (in medium) of the short version, THIS coat is heaven-sent! It's a full 42" long (in medium), and so fully covers my thighs (as it covers the models' thighs in the photos.) The hem comes to the bottom of my knees. The zipper starts high enough that it's not a problem to get started. We've had terrible winds and 20-degree temps here in NH lately, and I've been extremely happy to be so thoroughly protected as I clean my barn and walk my dog in the woods. Fortunately, the coat is not nearly as tight-fitting around the legs as it appears to be in the photos; I'm not a bit impeded when I walk fast. It doesn't have a streamlined, "fashion-statement" look, but then how could it and still be roomy enough for layering? The light mocha color is exactly that - coffee with lots of cream. (LOTS)

Love it, warm, dry, excellent fit.. My only wish/complaint is the top entry pockets since I find side pockets are easier but I can live with that and I ordered and love it.

This coat is comfortable, lightweight and waterproof, but does not keep me as warm as I thought it would. I have the blue color and have received compliments on how nice the coat looks.

This coat is very functional, though not awfully attractive. I bought it because I am allergic to down and had a hard time finding a warm coat of this sort lined with thinsulate. It fits well and I expect to wear it for a long time.

Light weight, warm storm coat. Not as roomy (for extra layers) as I'm used to, but its warm enough and wind resistant that more layers are not needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by NYC88Countrygirl Disappointing Cut and Qualtity
I have shopped with LL Bean for more decades than I like to remember, and I have always been able to trust the company for consistency in quality, construction and style. This year I have been disappointed.
This coat was totally bizarre for me: the 'handwarmer' pocket opening was placed between 2 and 3 inches from the base of the armhole, as a result, it basically placed my hands over my breasts (and no, they haven't fallen or drooped, the pockets are in a simply strange place)!
The other pockets are placed in the most unflattering position, right in front of each thigh, and those are not-insulated pockets.
Overall, I found the cut of the coat strange: I know many women have reported that the arms were too big, but for me, they were slim cut, and while I was able to layer, it was not comfortable.
Perhaps most important, it just wasn't as warm as I expected it to be. I actually feel bad giving an LL Bean item such a bad review, but this coat was not designed for an american woman (5'6", 155 lb). I don't know whose proportions this was made for, but certainly not for me or any of my friends who are of a similar size.
Please don't skimp on quality, LL Bean, we need you!

I love this coat. It fits well. Not too fitted nor too loose and I can fit
a fleece top under it. The two sets of pockets fit both keys and gloves. The length is perfect for me. I am 5' 3" and the coat falls below my knees which is great in cold weather. Last but not least the blue color is really nice.

Love this coat! Feels light weight yet keeps you very warm.Best of all it is waterproof. Have washed it in my washing machine and dried it in the dryer. Looks as good as new. Last year (2011)I bought it in beige. Liked it so much I purchased another in black (2012). Highly recommend this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by labradorwalker Comfortable, waterproof, fits well
have wanted this coat for 2 years but wasn't sure it would be warm enough for temp. below 30. what i found to be true.
1. the zipper works fine,
2. the fit is perfect for me (5'9" and weight app 165) the coat comes just below my knees and in the shoulder and chest area there's enough room to layer a sweater, or different layers of Fleece depending on how cold it is . 1st night after purchasing the coat it was 27 degrees and all I had on beneath the coat was a light fleece and wasn't cold.
3. The hood fit well, it poured the second night temperature was 38 degrees and went for a 2 mile walk with the dogs and the coat kept me dry... with a set of boots on snow, sleet and rain are not going to give me a problem anymore...
4. The only thing I didn't like was the front bottom 2 pockets were only good for putting you cell phone in or a set of keys in.
If your on the fence like me give it a try, you might be pleasantly suprised, or if not they have a great return policy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Prairielover light and great fit
Generally I like this coat, it fit's well and I love the cuffs inside the sleeves which really keep you warm. I'm hoping with a heavy sweater underneath, which just fits, that this coat will be warm enough for our cold winters. So far with just a light sweater in just below freezing weather I have found it nice and warm. The coat is also very light in weight which makes it great for traveling. The one thing I don't like is the pockets. I find the upper pockets uncomfortable to use and instead of those patch pockets would much prefer deep, side slit pockets.
