I really enjoy Bean sweaters. And the quality of this one is on par with every other Bean sweater I've ever owned.
Alas, the pictures on the website were strange. The guy looked round-shouldered. I thought it was just the model. I was wrong. The sweater is sewn with raglan sleeves.
A raglan sleeve (one cut on a diagonal with no shoulder seam - like on a baseball shirt) is appropriate with many cardigan-style sweaters. But on a V-neck, the look makes you look very round-shouldered unless you are a MMA fighter or James Caan.
I really wanted to like this. The fit otherwise was perfect - exactly Bean-like. Hopefully the next run, Bean will make this with a normal shoulder seam.

I have worn this model for several years, I still have the very first one that I bought because it wore better than later purchases, The latest version of this sweater is a looser weave knit and does not hang as well as the older models, and the V neck is cut too low. Just to correlate my thoughts on this sweater I decided to weigh them for comparison. My oldest, probably 6 years or more old, weighed 15 oz.. My sweaters that were about two years old weighed 14 oz., and these latest renderings weighed 13 oz. That looks to me that the sweater has been cheapened to maintain a price point. I liked my original purchases but my latest, I do not

Generally wear size medium in tops, so I bought this one. Arm length is adequate, but a little more would be nice. V in neck is too low and head hole needs to be smaller. Other than that, it's a winner so far.

Always pleased with these sweaters. Wish the collar area was stitched tighter.

Decent wool sweater that works well as a semi-casual option for work. Green was great for holiday season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EmergencyGuy Love These Sweaters
I wear these almost daily at work in the winter and have several different colors. They look professional with a button-down shirt and are very comfortable - warm enough for a chilly day outside and not too hot for in the office. Love the fact that they're available in tall sizes because the added length is nice to have. Quality is great and haven't had any problems with pilling except a very little bit along the seam on the sleeves (which seems to be a common problem with most sweaters).

Rated 3 out of 5 by RozyMN Not The Same Quality
I have several of these sweaters in my closet and love them as they are fit great and never wear out.
I was very disappointed by the sweater that I received as a Christmas present. After one wearing the material was pilling. Same LL Bean sweaters that I have worn mutliple times over the past few years have never pilled.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Seve2125 Nice, solid sweater
A fine wool sweater that works well as a semi-casual option for work or at home. The fit is really nice and the coloring is perfect. I would only ask for a slightly thicker lambswool, as the wool on this sweater is a little thin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vermontian Warm, stylish and comfy. Great for husbands
My husband wears this over a shirt & tie in the winter. The sweater is warm, stylish, and keeps its shape very well. Great quality and a good price for a husband who doesn't pick up after himself, but occasionally empties the dishwasher. He's worth it.

Desperate to replace my aging stock of lambswool V-necks, but struggling to find what I was looking for, I ordered two of these and two from another company with initials in its name (so that I could compare them). These are by far superior to the other two - thicker, softer, and they fit right (I am L, and the size guidelines were spot on). I'll be buying more, although I have to say that some of the comments by other buyers about declining quality of LL Bean products are worrying.
