I have a gorillapod of my own and since it's so handy and I love it so much, I just purchased one for my daughter. My husband and I love to take pictures for Christmas cards and now we don't have to wait for someone to come along to take our picture. The gorillapod screws easily onto our camera and twists securely onto a tree branch or sits up as a tripod and whatever picture angle we are looking for, we're able to achieve it easily now. The 3 little legs bend easily and at every imaginable angle to grab onto just about anything nearby. Just love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by WMFlyFisher I like it!
I have had a Gorillapod for some time and use it frequently to include myself in photos. It collapses to easily fit into a camera bag or backpack, it is a nice unit. It does lack one feature I wish it had (MAGNETIC FEET). I almost had my camera blow off my car hood, in very windy conditions, while using the Gorillapod. I also have the Joby light I purchased from LLBean, actually I purchased three one for myself and one each for my son and his father-in-law. We think they are great! If the Gorillapod had the magnetic feet, like the Joby light, it could mount on any metal surface, like a car hood, providing a solid footing.
I give the Gorillapod 4 stars it would be 5 stars if it had magnetic feet.

I love this little "guy." I got myself a new, smaller camera and took both of them with on my last hiking trip. I had fun playing with this tripod in various positions to take pictures that I could be in (I'm always behind the camera). It was very easy to maneuver. It is lightweight, small, and a perfect companion for a shoot-and-point camera.

I never write reviews but felt compelled to write one on this. If you take outdoor photos with a typical digital camera, you definitely should buy this. I do a lot of solo hiking in Acadia and elsewhere and this pod has made taking photos SOOOOO much easier and better. It's goofy looking but is awesome.

I can't recommend this handy little tripod enough. Yeah, I know: If you are a serious photographer, then you want to use a serious tripod. But if you just love carrying your camera everywhere that you go, you will love having this little tripod with you, as well. It will steady your camera almost anywhere; and it will allow you to slip into the shot, too!

It's small, making it easy to pack along on any hike or trip. Legs are easy to bend and shape. A great product all around.

msloudermilk pictures together when there's no one to help
We used the Gorillapod along with my compact digital camera to take photos while hiking and sightseeing in Scotland. It was great to be able to take pictures of me and my husband together when there was no one around to ask. Easy to use and fairly successful we thought.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pushmower Steady now ...
Got this for my birthday a few days ago. It's nice to have something like this to hold the camera steady, especially for long-exposure shots in dim light. No more botched hand-held shots. Well, fewer, anyway. And it's very portable. I just wish I wasn't so obsessed with getting every connector to line up and form a smooth arc in each leg. Perhaps that will pass with time. I love the quick-release button that allows me to connect or disconnect the tripod instantly.

This is a wonderful product, so useful! Attach the camera to a tree branch, a fence post, a chairback, the bannister, or whatever is handy so the camera will be aimed the right place. Fun to play with even when not in use - our gorillapod tends to lurk as a 3 legged spider around the house, ready for the next adventure.
