Needed a pair of "non-cotton" out-doors pants, bought these (a dear departed uncle of mine swore by them) - got them in time to wear while digging out from the Blizzard of 2016 in South Central PA - fit was spot on (perhaps a bit generous, but as they're not dress slacks all the better!) - nice and warm - shed water like an otters fur - washed 'em, hung 'em to dry and wore them the next day (more shoveling!) - plus they're nice enough looking to wear to the office!

These wool pants are OK because they are warm, fit well, and do not overdo the warmth or hardiness aspect of such attire. I bought them for cool weather golf (50 degrees or so) and find them to be not as warm as your fleece lined pants which I have been wearing this winter. Having said that, however, these pants are lighter than the fleece lined ones and maybe a bit more presentable and suitable for football/soccer games in late fall. I would recommend them only with reservations.

I like wearing wool pants since they are water repellent and retain warmth even when wet. That is important in Western WA, with our frequent chilly and wet winter days. Good old fashioned wool is hard to obtain now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HikerNJ Great pants, need more colors
Fabric is strong, heavy and warm. Fit is very good. I ordered up 1 size based on recommendations here. I wear these casually and while hiking. I like the color (brownish green). I would buy more in charcoal, brown and tan if offered. I don't care for the phoney leather and think it reduces the range of use of the pants. Whipcords have become hard to find so thanks LL Bean for offering these at what I consider a fair price.

Great fabric. An odd method of doing this side pockets with the pocket fabric showing. I,m not a fan of flaps on back pockets but I can live with it.My wife absolutely did not like these trousers. They came already hemmed, leaving me with the choice of which inseam length to choose. I washed the trousers per label. Some shrinkage.I had trousers hemmed professionally to desired length. We will see how it all works out during the coming winter.

Bought two pair (loden & brown) about 20 years ago. They are still going strong. Very comfortable fit and resist brambles well. Glad to see them back so I can replace the one with a knife cut (it has been repaired but shows).

Rated 4 out of 5 by WaltB Wearing them right now. -7 deg F out. Warm.
I bought these for outdoors in the wintertime in Northrun Meeshegun. They are pretty good. They are comfortable and fit well. I am a short and stout Grandpa. I do not use suspenders with them, but they do have buttons for that. They are not windproof. They are not dresspants. I wear wool long johns in this weather and polyester in temps that are bit warmer. Overall I like them, a bit pricey, but they seem to be pretty tough.
So, if you are looking for a windproof very warm pair of pants, these are not those. They are kind of high medium. I am going to look at some heavier duty wool pants on the website.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 2ndGenBeanShopper Quality Wool pants for active use outdoors
These pants are nicely made, solidly constructed, and will hold up to use outdoors and in cold weather. The wool fabric is thick and warm, and I think they are terrific. However, I bought them for my husband, and they don't suit his needs. They are too roomy in the hip and thigh for him, and not soft enough against his skin. He must be a bit more sensitive to wool than others. I believe he'd have kept them if they were lined or 1/2 lined to the knee, and black. The loden color is very nice, and if they fit properly the color they can be gotten used to, but they were too roomy in the thigh so he wasn't satisfied. I'll have to return them and hope to find warm, lined black pants for him.

over all decent pant....first wear feels like good material....I like the overall fit ..waist and derriere feel well tailored with more than ample leg room .....but two neccessary improvements:
1] longer zipper...I have to unbotton the pant to lower the pant to go #1..ie the sipper stops short [too high] above the crotch
2] deeper pockets
....the only comparable pant I've seen are Filson...and yes no doubt superior pant all around [ I know they make deep pockets]...don't know about the zipper ....but I'm not yet willing to spring for the extra 100+ bucks...I'll go with these even though they appear to be made for those with an anatomy of small hands and private parts closer to the belly botton
I give above average for material and fit comfort...and I'll give them a shot in spite of the shortcomings
