over all decent pant....first wear feels like good material....I like the overall fit ..waist and derriere feel well tailored with more than ample leg room .....but two neccessary improvements:
1] longer zipper...I have to unbotton the pant to lower the pant to go #1..ie the sipper stops short [too high] above the crotch
2] deeper pockets
....the only comparable pant I've seen are Filson...and yes no doubt superior pant all around [ I know they make deep pockets]...don't know about the zipper ....but I'm not yet willing to spring for the extra 100+ bucks...I'll go with these even though they appear to be made for those with an anatomy of small hands and private parts closer to the belly botton
I give above average for material and fit comfort...and I'll give them a shot in spite of the shortcomings

These pants are great I wear them hunting, I wear a size 40 but buy 42-44 due to these are a regular fit. The 40 fit great just not relaxed to hunt in. Im 6'2" 245lbs and want to be able to but long under ware under them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SpringRich Nice pants but the fabric is reversed
These pants fit well, are well made, don't shrink when washed and are a good value. The only complaint I have, which others have noted also, is the supplier put the wrong side of the fabric on the outside. The twill ribs which are tight and hard should be on the outside not inside. The pants are made in Vietnam and perhaps they are unfamiliar with this fabric. Still, it is hard to find pants like these anymore, so even with the fabric reversed, I am keeping them.

I don't understand why certain clothing companies can't make clothes for smaller framed guys. I really want to like LL Bean, but I'm having a hard time because nothing from LL Bean fits. For example, these pants...where is the size 30? Furthermore, even the smalls I swimming in. I know that we live in a world where everything is super sized, including the people, but that shouldn't mean us "little folk" can't have access to quality clothing.

Since I have not worn them, I can only state that they fit as indicated, look very well constructed and the fabric seems a sturdy gabardine.
A winter of washings will tell the tale.

Due to the hot weather I have not worn the pants outside. The fit was great and they washed and held their shape extremely well. No ironing required.

Rated 2 out of 5 Not what they used to be
I've loved my Bean whipcords for probably 20 years. Inevitably, they are no longer suitable for dressy use, which is a shame because they drape beautifully and have worn like iron. I ordered a new pair, but they are not the same product, and I have returned them. Old pair: Cut and tailored like dress pants. New pair: Cut like jeans. Old: Hard twill on the outside, soft inside. New: Hard twill inside, soft outside. (What were they thinking?) Old: Brownish color with green undertones; goes with anything. New: serious loden green, goes only with a park ranger's shirt. I am SO disappointed!

Thick, warm, great quality. And had a minor issue with them called LL Bean and they mailed me new pair right away and with no hassles. This customer service cannot be beat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by doctordoctor Almost returned them
They are not real old fashion whipcord. More like a machine knitted fabric. Not even sure one would call them twill. Their green color makes one look like an unemployed park ranger. Not even warm when its -20F outside. But instead of returning them, which i was going to do, I wore them and found them surprisingly very comfortable, warm in all but the coldest weather, and very dry on damp days. We live on an island off the coast of Maine so that is important. The pants attract dog hairs beyond imagination., but with several passes of a leather glove, the hairs bunch up and can easily be removed. So they have gone from the worst to the best pair of pants I have bought from LLBeans in a long time.
The cut fits well, unlike a lot of Asian clothing. The pockets more than generous. The fabric is somewhat elastic which means the legs do not bind up when squatting(important when picking up wood from the log pile). I wear a 40x29, and the pants were sized exactly as requested.
BTW: I prefer to buy American made and tried on some wool pants made in Vermont. They cost about twice the price, fitted poorly, and seemed indifferent in construction. Returned them; kept these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Conak Great, despite a few
Let me start by saying that I own whipcord pants. I have Filsons and I have the LL Bean in grey when they were offered in the signature line. I would recommend these, and say they are well worth the price, despite a few issues:
1. Compared to the Filson, the weave is a bid looser, feeling a bit stretchy. This is odd, because the LL Bean signature whip cords I have actually were somewhat superior in fabric to the much pricier Filson. The grey LL bean whipcord was as tight as the Fikson and actually thicker (and looks great too). These green ones are still worth this price but a bit lower on fabric weave
2. The other reviewer (and I'm surprised he's the only one) is correct in his observation that the fabric is inside out from the typical whipcord construction. And I know I'm not crazy here, because not only are the Filsons with the ribbing out, but the LL bean signature whipcords I have are too!
3. Not really a problem: in the picture the pocket trim seems to be brown. It is actually grey. At first that put me off, but then I thought of the several pants I have with brown leather trim like this, and how it makes black footwear clash. grey should work with black and brown footwear, so actually I think I prefer this. An issue though is that the faux suede is supposed to make that part of the pant more durable but instead of putting it on top of a layer of whipcord to reinforce it, they sewed the faux suede by itself. Faux suede is probably less durable than whipcord alone, so I don't get it.
4. The fit of my 34 is closer to a 35. The Signature line version fit very well. Roomy enough for being active in but not so roomy that your belt was required to keep them on. This is a bit roomier than it should be
Overall though, solid construction and as someone who always has to retuck his shirt, I think I'll come to appreciate the inner waistband design. I would recommend at the price I paid with coupon.
