Firsr wash and the inside was pilled and itchy for my 6yr old ... Returned it.
I bought a matching active fleece for myself as well and that did not have any pilling I kept mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kaybie I buy a couple every year
Warm, cute, stand up to washing, generously cut. I buy a couple new ones each year -- the previous year's usually continue to fit for a while, and the new ones go into the circulation. My child is now 4 and I have been buying these tops since she was 18 months. They are great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mlg3 Fit is too boxy; Quality subpar
Even though I ordered three of these for my kids on sale, they still aren't worth it. The girls' coral color is flourescent, much brighter than pictured and not nearly as pretty, in my view. As others have said, the cut is wide, short and boxy, so it'll be too wide for my kids this year and too short if I wanted to try to get two years of wear out of them. Probably a fine cut if your kids are short and chubby, but otherwise take the advice of me and the others here and don't waste your money on this. Very disappointed. I expect more from LLBean.

The kid just loves it. Normal quality I would expect from beans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OnlineShopper09 Perennial top quality, functionality
Wash after wash, it retains color, sizing, and fabric quality. True to LL Bean's motto. Roomy, comfortable, and just looks great on. Very pleased as a mom that this item often goes on sale that I can get the top quality at top value. More of this type of kids clothes pricing would draw me more often.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mom2et unwearable after first washing
The pullover was a lighter weight that I expected, but it was minimally acceptable. It does not appear to be warm enough for very cold weather. It arrived with a small stain on it so I washed it (and the stain did come out.)
After the first washing the inside of the shirt became covered with fabric "pills" and is now quite scratchy in the inside. The outside of the shirt remains soft.
My daughter, who had selected the shirt, now refused to wear it because the inside of the shirt is so scratchy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LifeLongBeaner2 Not Just For Girls Fitness Fleece
Resorted to trying the girls' fitness fleece because no petite size in the women's comparable fleece (hint, hint LLBean...some of us don't like rolling up sleeves for correct fit.). Bingo! These fit perfectly! And, the sleeve pocket holds my pedometer/ipod for evening dog walks. BTW, this fleece fits well with the LLBean ladies V-neck neck tees! Will gobble up more as new colors as are released. Hope LLBean continues to make this fleece in its current fit for a long time.

by Pharmer Great for pajamas
I bought one of these and the flannel cargo pants for my 4 year-old twins and they love them as pajamas. Originally thought that the zipper would be difficult to sleep with but so far there has been no complaints and they have been wearing them regularly since October. Both kids give the pajama set a thumbs up

Rated 5 out of 5 by NovaScotiaLLBeanFan Very nice, practical, thin fleece
I purchased this fleece in the coral colour for my 5 year old daughter. The colour seems much more vibrant than on the website but I like it. Definitely will be able to find her in a crowd!
It's a very thin, lightweight fleece. I bought it to wear under her winter jacket for an added layer of warmth. It's lightweight enough to easily fit under parkas, rain jackets, etc. Here in Canada, our mornings are sometimes much colder than it is by lunch time so I like that she has something for the bus stop and then can easily stow this away in her back pack when not needed.
As for the cut - I agree that LL Bean's clothes have been getting wider lately for kids - we ran into that with the boys' fleece lined hoodies also. On certain kids, this is not flattering. This fleece size 6x is about 15 inches across at the chest and about 20 inches long. So it's pretty boxy. For our purposes it's absolutely fine, but as children get older, I could see some girls not liking this boxy cut. For my little girl, it's fine.
It's soft on the outside and not fleecy on the inside. My daughter would prefer it soft on both sides, but not a big deal. If it was fleecy on the inside I think it would be harder to slip arms through.
The zip works well. We've had a few issues with zippers recently from LL Bean on jackets, but this one is fine. There's some nice details - a zipper pocket on the arm which she probably won't use and some contrasting seams down the front.
I got it $10 off - and that seems good value to me for what it cost. She will get tons of wear out of this, not just under jackets, but for a great layering piece instead of a sweater, and for spring and fall. I'm really happy and would recommend this to others. I will likely be buying more in the future.
I bought a size up so that we can get a few years wear out of this, can easily turn up the sleeves. It seems sized accurately to me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sonechko Not for a slim kid
I really like the colors and style of these fleeces and my daughter wore them for a couple of years. When she was a chubby toddler they were just great, but as she got older and became tall and lean these no longer fit. They are just too boxy and too short. She's 8 and size 8 is way too short (although still is a tad wide), while size 10-12 is barely long enough but sooo wide and boxy, she's swimming in it. Sadly, back it goes. Also the fleece is not very high quality and does not hold that well after a few washes, but at least it's not expensive so not really complaining about that.
