Rated 5 out of 5 by MissMontana Hard to Find a Womens Coat Like This!
I was looking for the womens version of my husband's wool hunting jacket. This is it! I saw many reviews saying the coat was unflattering. This coat is made for keeping you warm and dry. It has room for layers underneath it for the desired degree of warmth. If you picture yourself out in the Montana woods in winter with a foot or more of snow on the ground on snowshoes or horseback, this is the coat for you. LL Bean gets back to its outdoor roots with this coat. It's made for rugged, utilitarian wear, not for flitting around the mall--and that's truly flattering!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Freddie Great style, fit, comfort- you name it!
This is without a doubt the Greatest Coat ever!
The buffalo plaid is very popular now.
The cut is very nice- I have rec'd compliments on it being very
It fits close to the body, yet I have plenty of shoulder room so it is comfortable to wear in the car.
This has been a cold week, but when I wear this coat, the wind does not penetrate.
I am very, very happy with this purchase ( the best Christmas present ever)

Beautiful parka!!! The size medium fits right except the arms are a little long. The parka is a bit heavy but on the other hand it is extremely warm. The color is what you think of in a red and black plaid . Lots of pockets which is handy so you don't need to carry a purse. It is something that is worth the price. I highly recommend this parka for a winter coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JB111 Ugly...Fat Coat...like you gained 25lbs
Oh my gosh I cant tell you how disappointed I was to try on this coat. It is the worst fit of any coat I think I have ever worn. It seriously makes you look like you have gained 25lbs. It is incredibly unflattering-even though the medium seemed to be the correct size in shoulders, arm etc. I can't imagine who this would look cute on. It is way overpriced at over $200. It went straight back to the box and back for a return. This coat does NOT look like something LLBean would carry.

Practical, woodsy, warm, but not figure flattering. The zippered front, rounded collar and large patch pockets placed low on the hips create a "dumpy" look for the wearer, unless she is tall and slender. I'm not, so I returned the coat.

I loved this jacket, it is exactly what I was looking for, all the great features, good quality fabric, well made, colors I wanted. I was thrilled when it arrived, but when I unpacked it I could tell with one glance it was going to be too big.
PLEASE make this jacket available in XS, or petite.
I can guarantee you have no competition in this area, I'm still searching for one.
I'll buy one as soon as it's available

LL really did it with this one !! Been wearing mine on cold mornings for dog walking in the woods, and it is toasty! When windy, I can wear a light layer under it and still be toasty. I love wool, and combined with new fabrics, beats the cold!! Loads of pockets, good zipper, easy to move in - a real winner. Thanks much LL !! Medium for 5'6", 140 lbs

Rated 3 out of 5 by ManhattanMaineGal How I wanted to love this jacket!
But sadly, instead of looking like a chic lumber jack I looked like Elmer Fudd. Color and fabric are gorgeous, lots of useful big pockets. But it just didn't hang properly. Sorry to send it back but for the price it needs to be just right.

This coat is almost perfect. 5'2 135 pounds. The sleeves are just a tad long but considering how warm and functional this coat is I'm going to get them altered. Love the flap in the back. Covers the behind nicely

I was so excited to receive this coat, but when I did, it took me back a bit. Was not what I expected from the catalog. At first glance, it was to masculine for me. I wasn't sure about the wool on the collar rubbing on my neck as the lining of the collar doesn't cover all the wool. But I really love the colors. I let it hang on the coat rack for a while. I would try it on then hang it back up. I almost sent it back, but something stopped me.
Yesterday it snowed on the mountains and a little in the valley. Wished I had my new coat. Today I wore my new coat as it was 29 degrees out. Oh so warm and toasty. Plenty of room for extra layer underneath. Love the two sets of pockets on the outside. One set of pockets is fleece lined. The other has two ways to access. Places to put stuff and still keep hands warm. The sleeves have zippers halfway up to help putting on gloves or to fold back but the liner has a cuff to keep your arms covered, Nice feature. The collar is kinda masculine looking but I bet it will help keep the wind out when folded up around my ears. My old coat is also an LL Bean but it was well worn. I think this new coat will keep me very warm for many many years to come. Its tough enough to hike in the woods, but nice enough to wear to a party. I sure am glad I kept this coat.
