Rated 5 out of 5áby Luv2Paddle Love this kayak!
I bought this kayak in June and have used it 2-3 times a week throughout the summer. It assembles and comes apart easily and fits beautifully in the back of my Kia Sorrento, with plenty of extra room for other gear. I am a small woman and would not be able to put a kayak on the roof by myself, so this kayak is a great solution. It's very stable in moderate wind and waves. The cupholders and roomy cargo areas are a bonus. I am not an experienced paddler, but I highly recommend this kayak for getting out on the water.

Rated 4 out of 5áby RIoutdoorsy Great versatility
This kayak fits in my Hyundai Access!!! (small 2-door hatchback). With the back seats folded down, and the passenger seat a bit forward, I can fit the two pieces in the back. This way, I can easily transport it, or leave it in my car while at work and use it on the way home.
It is easy to put together and take apart - the second time. Took a bit to figure out how to take it apart the first time.
In the water, it is fine. It is less 'aero-dynamic' than my other kayak, so doesn't glide as well. However, being able to put it in my car outweighs this difference.
The cup holders are great for water, sunscreen, or sunglasses case. The sealed compartments will hold plenty of stuff.

áby KansasKayaker Martini 2 person modular kayak
We bought this about a month ago after waiting 4 months to get a great price :-).
I am so happy I convinced my husband to do this with me. I'm a transplanted New Englander, living in Kansas and married to a native, we're in our fifties. We have very large man made lakes, with heavy winds here. After speaking with Beans kayak expert we made a decision for a sit in-with whisper paddles. SO happy we did. Last weekend we were in 20 mph winds and 18" waves, and had an absolute blast! No problems whatsoever!
The pieces fit together but sometimes can be frustrating, so we just take a deep breathe and viola! All three pieces fit into my Scion XB (toaster) with the back seat down no problem. We tried regular life jackets, but found the shorter one with mesh worked better. We made a wish list for the next build of kayaks.. drink holders in the FRONT of the seat (or even side), paddle clips, and high back seats. Build on this kayak is sturdy and safe... we feel very comfortable.

When we ordered two tandem Point 65N kayaks, we were uncertain how transporting the kayaks to the lake was going to work for us.
We have two older Subaru Outbacks (2000 and 2003). We are able to mount 2 solo kayaks (1 bow and 1 stern each) on the roof rack of one car with the help of two Thule rooftop kayak carriers. With the back seat completely down, we are able to fit both center sections into the back of the car. So, we are able to transport two, tandem Point 65N kayaks in one car, leaving room for a driver and one passenger in the car. For our family, the other two people just take a different car loaded with the paddles, life vests and other needed accessories.
When only three of us are going kayaking, we are able to fit everything, including people into one car. Again, two boats are put on the roof rack in the solo configuration. One center piece then fits into the back of the car with the 2/3 side of the back seat folded down. Paddles, life vests and other accessories manage somehow to fit in the car as well. This leaves room for the driver and two passengers in the car.
Others have described what they think of these kayaks. Hopefully this will help you understand that with these boats, and an older Subaru Outback or similarly sized car, three people can go kayaking for the day. If four people need to go, and the kayaks will be transported with an older Outback or similar vehicle, a second car will be needed to transport two of the people.

Rated 5 out of 5áby FriscoTXKayaker Perfect For Us
Ordered both the tandem and solo edition of the Point 65N sit-in Kayaks. LLBean showed back ordered until 6/4 but they beat that date and the kayaks (In five boxes) arrived the Friday before Memorial Day (May 25).
This product is fabulous and fits our family perfectly. The kayaks go together very easily and the versatility is amazing. Since there are three of us Mon, Dad, Daughter (12 yr old) we have the flexibility to have our daughter with us or to go out just Mom and Dad. All five pieces (2 fronts, 2 backs, 1 middle) fit in the back of our Honda Odyssey - the fit is snug, but they all fit. We used the kayaks on Lake Grapevine in Dallas and had a blast. The kayaks handled very well in the water, were easy to maneuver, comfortable and looked good. This is an exceptional recreational kayak!

Rated 5 out of 5áby VAMom2 Great Tandem Sit in Kayak
This item was initially backordered, but I can say the wait was definitely worth it. My 10 year old and I have taken it out on the James River a few times as well as to an area lake. We can stash all three pieces in the back of the van and be down at the water in no time. The design definitely catches the attention of people passing by. I'm so glad that it goes together easily--as I had an audience of about six people watching me put it together the first time we took it down to the river. (It was easier to put it together in the water than it was to put it together on my living room floor.) My son agrees that this kayak is "definitely a five star product." I haven't tried it as a solo kayak, but I'm glad I have that option.

Rated 5 out of 5áby LifeCruiser Great 2-person kayak
Purchased this 2-person kayak to use on Lake Michigan with another person or my dog. Works great. Water is colder so I went with this "Sit-in", rather than "Sit-on" as LLBean rep suggested. You don't get wet. Better than my brother's canoe---faster and more stable. Everyone is enjoying it. Glad to hear from another reviewer that it will fit in my Prius so I can transport to an inland lake for a different adventure. Only issue was they shipped 2 boxes instead of 3, but of course that was corrected and the 3rd section was then shipped right away.

Have the tandem model a year now. Love the rudder. It ships in 3 separate boxes with 3 different tracking numbers. 5 stars, no problems with it. Stores great in a little shed.

Rated 4 out of 5áby benbeanshopper Almost perfect
- Fits INSIDE most cars/suv's
- Easy to paddle
My only gripe is that it's a little on the slow side... I guess it's to be expected for a short recreational kayak.

Rated 5 out of 5áby VABeachGirl Awesome Kayak
The kayak performs as described. Modular, easy to transport, easy to store and easy to put together. You get the best of both worlds, solo or tandam. A non-modular kayak was not going to work for me because of transport/storage issues and this solved the problem. All three pieces fit in the back of my Prius. Had issue with delivery but like always LL Bean addressed the problem immediately and made it good.
